Don’t forget about An Evening of Storytelling, at the Pool Nature Center tomorrow, Sunday, October the 4th! Join local storytellers (Niki Wolfhame Katrick, Amy Hyatt, Djeli Celestia and Reily Mhera Mumpton) for an enthralling evening of fables, tales and stories. Doors open at 5:00, and we’ll gather around the fire at 5:30.

Please dress to warmly, we will be spending the evening outside.

Admission by donation. Donations go towards the care of our non-releasable animal ambassadors, as well as supporting our educational programs.

🧂 SALT THERAPY HAS ARRIVED AT PURPLE SARAH! 🧂

Our Halo FX booth uses dry salt therapy (halotherapy), dispersing microscopic particles of pure, dry salt while you sit back, relax and breathe normally.

Fine salt particles may help loosen mucus and support your body’s natural airway-clearing process, potentially making breathing feel more comfortable.

Some people incorporate halotherapy into their wellness routines during allergy, congestion and cold seasons.

Ten quiet minutes to sit, breathe and unplug can be a pretty great reset all by itself!

✨ AND LET’S TALK SKIN!
Those microscopic salt particles also settle onto exposed skin. Halotherapy is sometimes used as a complementary wellness practice for dry, irritated or inflammation-prone skin, including concerns such as eczema and psoriasis. Some people report improvements in itching, flaking and overall skin comfort. Research is still limited, so we consider this a potential wellness benefit — not a treatment or cure.

💜 WHY A BOOTH INSTEAD OF THE SALT CAVE WE ORIGINALLY PLANNED?

Yes, the original plan really was a full salt cave! But after researching the massive expense, potential impact of salt on the building and HVAC, and how difficult a permanent room would be to move, the booth made MUCH more sense.

There’s another big benefit: TIME!

Large salt-room sessions are commonly 30–60 minutes. Because our Halo FX is a much smaller, concentrated space, we’re starting at just 10 minutes, with the option to extend up to 20 minutes.

Less time. Less impact on our building. Easier to maintain. Easier to fit into your day.

Win-win for everyone. 💜

Salt therapy is a complementary wellness service, not a medical treatment or replacement for medical care. Research is still developing and individual experiences vary. Check with your healthcare provider if you have a medical condition or are pregnant.

For all other services, please call or text us to book. More services will be available online soon! We’ll be closed Saturday, October 3, for our first Saturday of the month.

A friendly reminder of our appointment policies:

We offer a 10-minute grace period. If you need to cancel, please give at least 24 hours’ notice for a single service or 48 hours’ notice for an appointment with multiple services. Late cancellations are charged 50% of the service cost; no-call, no-shows are charged 90%.

A credit card on file is required to hold every appointment. We can add your card securely by text or over the phone, or you can add it through your Vagaro account. If you’d like to add it yourself and we don’t have your email on file, send us your email and we’ll send you a link to your customer profile.
