Lorde, Poppy Delevingne, and Amanda Seyfried Bring Back the Curling Iron If the jeweled chignons at Dolce & Gabbana and pin-straight ponytails at Dior are any indication, it’s that the illusion of effortlessness is giving way to the magic of ladylike polish. And so it’s not entirely surprising that even in the city of rumpled, laissez-faire manes, meticulously crafted curls should find their way to the front rows. At Givenchy, Amanda Seyfried took her seat with her supernaturally thick head of hair falling into neatly defined spirals, while Poppy Delevingne showed up at Chloé with luxe, big-barrel coils that hadn’t been so much as finger-combed. Even Lorde traded in her signature exuberant texture for a style that showed off the work of a professional hand wielding hot tongs. Here, three reasons to break out the curling iron.

Red Lips & Ornate Accessories at Dolce & Gabbana Embracing motherhood and femininity on the fall runway.If J.K. Simmons' Oscars speech didn't inspire you to call home, then Dolce & Gabbana's Fall 2015 show likely did the trick. Dedicated to mothers, it featured models walking the runway with their babies in their arms, a pregnant Bianca Balti and pieces emblazoned with "Je t'aime maman" (perfect for gifting on May 10, no?). The hair and makeup stayed true to what we've come to expect from the designers: flawless skin, red lips and ornate, Baroque-inspired accessories that looked like the brooches and treasures you'd pull out of your Italian grandmother's jewelry box. Makeup artist Pat McGrath created pretty winged eyes inspired by Sophia Loren using Glam Liner in Black Intense and a soft blend of gold, taupe, brown and rose shadows, then she applied a different shade of red lipstick to each model (13 of the new Dolce Matte Lipsticks were used in total) for a look that was all about the power of femininity.

Jaime King stepped out sporting some freshly trimmed, blunt bangs!This isn’t the actress’s first foray into fringe. She sported them back in 2008, but this time she opted for a longer length and a wispy texture. She styled her hair in loose waves for a very ’70s-inspired vibe.
