🌅When I found Maddie’s Instagram page, I had a gut feeling. Before her first day of work in the salon, I invited her to fly to Pittsburgh with me and my one employee at the time for an educational trip with a group she had never heard of. ✈️

🙏 It was a leap of faith for both of us. Now, 4 years later, she has never let me down. Maddie still makes me believe in doing good and working hard.

I am absolutely impressed by the hairstylist she has become, but most of all I appreciate the energy she contributes to the world. 🌎

How long will she be here? After 2 years in Canada, Whitney will be joining us at Chopping Block again!

We said goodbye in 2024 and she has been living the dream in Revelstoke, spreading hair magic to those mountain gals.

Now her work visa renewal was declined and she is waiting for a new visa to be approved. In the mean time Whitney is coming back to the US and we get to hang out!

Right now we have opened up her January Schedule in Breckenridge. Soon we will post a link to her waitlist for possible December appointments.

She is hoping to get back to Canada by March but it all depends on the Visa process. We will be keeping you posted as more dates open up.

🖌️ 🎨 Highlights, low lights, and Toner/Gloss in brown hair can take the look from plain to pizzaz, from ashen to warm, and from flat to dimensional. 🪩This gorgeous color was done by Maddie and it makes her skin glow and blue eyes pop.

In May, we closed for two weeks so that we could remodel the shampoo area. Here is what it looks like today. Do you like it? What else would you add to this space?

We had a lovely Sunday of education this week, painting real hair swatches that clients have donated to us over the years. Each stylist in class painted 6+ different hair swatches with different starting “canvases” and we formulated for real red hair scenarios. We learned from our own experimentation and from each other. Learning in a lab-style class is so fun because it’s very hands on and instantly applicable to real clients. We can’t wait to give you the fall red hair of your dreams!

Claire worked wonders after a thorough consultation and curly cut on dry hair. This lovely client, Heyleen had an unfortunate experience with damaging salon services somewhere else, and was anxious to cut off the brittle pieces that had lost curl. After a heart to heart chat, they agreed that Claire would cut off just enough damaged hair, create a new shape, and do a Moisture/Shine Treatment, so Heyleen feels cute and sassy again.
