Reminder: JUST BECAUSE IM A BEAUTICIAN, don’t make me a beauty 😂😂 This entire week I had jumped from store to store getting makeup restocked now that wedding season is dwindling down. THE LOOKS were speaking (employees be like 👀👀) I’m excited for the upcoming year and a great reminder that even the ratchet looking can be an established and proud business owner. Let’s not get it twisted. Your wedding day, I’m cute. In the wild or on your trial run? Nahhh bruh. For me to maintain my level of busy there’s a choice, either I’m cute or you’re cute. Take your pick 😂 I’m proud of both, she works hard, she’s humble and GOT KIDS, can’t buy myself nothing that not on BUSINESS 🤣 I am honestly working on trying to get myself more dolled up often, but I’m grateful of your guys’ trust anyways. I love you guys!! Thank you for supporting your homeless looking beautician. 😝 I love you most!

Being an entrepreneur has been an incredible blessing that I cannot and will never take for granted. I’ve met so many amazing people and continue to grow in this amazing path of life. What the truth is, is that things can only look so beautiful on the surface so after 12+ years in this industry… this is the truth:
1) Imposter syndrome never goes away. I am not a typical makeup artist, I’m a tomboy with the love of a makeup brush and yet when anyone compliments me, I still second guess myself. I’m not all that… I tell myself sometimes. But I’ve built something respectable and I can’t belittle the hard work I’ve put in.
2) My anxiety is worse now than it’s ever been. Realistically? Entrepreneurship is a lot of dependence on those who trust you and sometimes you have days you don’t trust your own capabilities when that one “negative” review pops up. Keep going. This industry evolves a lot and people have a choice to go wherever they prefer. But I remind myself daily that I’m a professional, there are clients who adore my work and it is credible. I’m good enough.
3) Not every month will look the same. Some you could make thousands of dollars, others you only made $500. That doesn’t accredit you any less, every entrepreneur has these seasons and also includes when you make expensive mistakes too.
4) l am still struggling with work/life balance. The hustle life stayed with me constantly, and I’m trying to do better. Many days, chasing the money is not worth missing out on personal life things. Choose them, cause remember they’ll always choose you. Many clients may not.
4) I am the best ME, not the very best. I have things I’m so strong in and others I’m not. Finding your village in this industry is a NECESSITY. That’s why I’m grateful for Gem Masikat | Kitsap / Tacoma Bridal Hair Artist ✨ and our teams GG Beauty | Kitsap Tacoma Seattle Hair and Makeup Specialists and B&B Salon & Boutique | SILVERDALE SALON we have a team of immensely talented girls who I can talk to about any problems and they do the same. Competition is a disgusting word in this industry, when you look at the bigger picture. We ALL go through the same.

Whether you have an a versatile bridal party or want a look from day to night. It’s a flex to book an artist that can do both. The biggest factor for this? Heavy on the communication. All of that is key to create a dream look together. I will absolutely talk through with you and feel free to be completely honest with me. The beauty of makeup is powerful and although I do have “signature” looks. No look is too rough to attempt in my eyes. We can try it together. My other thing is both took the same exact time to complete (45 min) I’m not one to rush, I just have a makeup blueprint that I can utilize as I see your skin in person. I’m honored to be someone versatile, whether we need to take our time, switch up looks or rush to get you going. It’ll get done and beautifully 🥹🫶🏼
