I often get this question during consultations. I always tell my clients to think of the sun and the moon.

The sun is bright, golden, and warm. We often refer to daylight as golden and evenings as golden hour. We see shades of yellow, oranges, reds, and pinks in our sunrises and sunsets.

Our moon is calm and quiet. Although she can be bright, she can also be dark. A great representation of the color scale. Our moon brings out the blues and purples in our sky. We refer to the dark as midnight blue with our galaxies are surrounded in purples, and our days beginning with soft violets in the earliest hours.

So, how do you know which is best for you?

If you look good in jewel tones, blues, purples, have a pinkish undertone to your skin, then you’ll look best with cool toned hair! It could be an icy platinum, mushroom brown, or even a softer neutral!

If you look better in rich browns, reds, and golds, then warm is the way to go!
You’ll find these tones in rich coppers, browns, and honey/ golden blondes!
