The best beauty professionals know that business is a team sport. Even when you’re a business of one.

Think about the last Saturday you missed something that actually mattered. A soccer game, a girl’s trip, a family birthday party, because Saturday is your busiest day and you couldn’t afford to take it off.
You didn’t get into this industry for that. You got into it because you wanted independence. You wanted to build something that was yours, set your own hours, be your own boss. But somehow you ended up with less control over your time than you’d have at almost any other job.
Maybe you’ve told yourself the answer is just to work harder. Take one more client or stay a little later. For a while, maybe that worked. It’s that your whole business depends on you being in that one chair, in that one shop, on someone else’s schedule, for every hour you want to make money.

Or maybe you’re the lash artist who’s been fully booked for over a year, who knows you’re ready to bring someone on and build a real team, but you’re working out of a single station with nowhere for that idea to go.
You didn’t end up here because you’re not good enough or not working hard enough. You ended up here because of the structure you’ve been working inside of.
