54 days sober:
Thankful • Happy • Scattered • But Grounded • Calm • Kind • Blessed • Aware • Taking it day By Day.
Anyone struggling with addiction of any kind there is help out there.
Start small by admitting you more and that there is an issue.
Admitting is the most important step. Many will try to push forward but will find themselves back in the same patterns and cycles.
Self awareness leaves room for open-mindedness and a chance to receive help.
I am grateful for the love and encouragement that comes my way daily.
Navigating the early stages of recovery from alcoholism is a journey filled with both challenges and revelations. It’s a time when many find themselves vulnerable to relapse, but I’m embracing this moment of growth and self-awareness. The mental clarity that comes with sobriety has opened my eyes to the deeper aspects of my life and my habits.
I've realized that certain places, spaces, and faces that once brought joy can now feel like triggers. It’s not that I don’t appreciate the memories or the connections; it’s just that they no longer resonate with my current path. Because of this, I’ve made the conscious decision to steer clear of these environments for my own protection. It’s not personal; it’s an act of self-care. When I decline invitations, it’s because I’m still finding my footing and not quite ready to immerse myself in those social situations.
For those of you with loved ones in recovery, patience is key. Your encouragement and support mean the world, even if I can’t always be present. Understanding that this journey takes time can help us all navigate these waters together. Thank you for your unwavering support; it truly makes a difference. 💪✨
Today turned out to be a blessing in disguise! After getting kicked out of my IOP, I decided to treat myself to a little retail therapy at the Salvation Army. Scored a bag full of church and summer clothes for just $20! 🌼
Then I headed to Marshalls, where I found my favorite skincare and body care products—reminding me just how important self-care is, especially during recovery. To top it off, I enjoyed a fresh lunch at Truly Greek. Feeling grateful for the little things today! 💖
Chasing what feels good is a big problem and what kept me addicted.
If I can go hard to catch the liquor store before 10. If I can wait hrs for the w**d man.. I can be patient and go hard for my goals and sobriety.
Life is not going to always feel good!
When navigating the path to recovery, it’s crucial to discern the messages we receive. Sometimes, those still entangled in substances may urge you to stay away from recovery programs, and while their intentions might come from a place of love, their perspective is clouded by their own struggles.
It’s important to remember that you are not obligated to share what’s working for you with those who are still using. Recovery can reveal treasures of insight and strength, but many won’t grasp this as they remain lost in their own battles. Trust your journey and embrace the riches that await on the other side.
Choosing sobriety has been the best decision of my life! 🌟
I’ve shed those extra pounds, found a deeper connection to God, and my skin has never looked clearer. With better gut health and an overall sense of well-being, I truly feel like I’m thriving. Here’s to embracing a healthier, happier me—one day at a time! 🙏💪✨

Substance abuse starts as a choice, then progresses into a disease. Causing all kinds of symptoms and out of the ordinary behaviors and patterns. Nobody means to push their body to such limits but it happens. Nobody means to conduct themselves in extreme ways but happens.
You don't have to understand but you also have no right to judge.
Had any tried ReBundle braiding hair?
Entering an Intensive Outpatient Program (IOP) for substance abuse can feel disruptive, uprooting your daily work and home schedules. But this journey is not just a hurdle; it's a necessary leap toward a healthier life. Committing to recovery may seem daunting, yet it opens doors to profound transformation.
By investing in recovery, you can cultivate richness in various aspects of your life. You'll gain knowledge that empowers you, nurture your spirit, and achieve mental clarity. This enriched state of being ultimately enhances both your personal and professional life, allowing you to thrive rather than just survive.
I once believed that IOP would hinder my progress, yet it turned out to be the catalyst for positive change. Rather than missing out on life, I found a path to a fulfilling existence—one where I am provided for and no longer fear missing meals or financial stability.
So, take that leap of faith. Give yourself a chance for change. Embrace the journey of recovery, and discover the wealth of life that awaits you.
