Tips for giving your hair a little TLC in the winter.....

✨️ Your hair goes through many temperature changes right now. Warmth inside, hot showers, heating tools and then freezing cold outside. Although a hot shower sounds nice in the colder months, try to rinse your hair in lukewarm water. If you do blow dry, straighten, or curl your hair, make sure you are using heat protection product. You can also braid your hair or use heatless curling tools to get a curled or wavy look with out using a hot tool.

✨️ Try to avoid going outside with wet hair. Wet hair can freeze in cold temps and can break more easily. It's also an extreme shock to your hair. Attempt to blow dry on low heat or wash your hair the night before.

✨️ Winter is a good time to train your hair for less washes. Shampooing your hair less often will help keep it more hydrated in these dry months. Dry shampoo and hats are your best friend this time of year. Or try a sleeked back stylish headband, ponytail or bun look to work with your 2nd, 3rd, 4th day hair. Not washing your hair as often will not only train your hair not to get so oily, but is healthier for it too. Shampooing your hair can be drying as you are stripping the natural oils from your hair and scalp.

✨️Keeping your hair hydrated during the dry winter months is important. Make sure to use a hydrating conditioner. Keep it off your scalp to avoid getting oily at your roots quickly. A daily hair oil or weekly mask on your ends will help your hair from becoming static, dry, frizzy, and split.
