Today marks 6 months since I officially opened Magnolia Aesthetics, and while that milestone alone fills me with pride, it’s the deeper meaning behind the name—and the dates—that moves me most.

I named my business Magnolia Aesthetics for two reasons, both close to my heart.

The first—my Louisiana roots. I was born in the South, where the magnolia is the state flower and a symbol of strength, beauty, and grace. One of the parishes I lived in as a child was Natchitoches, where the beloved film Steel Magnolias was filmed—a story that’s always had a special place in my heart. Today, I find so much joy returning to that area with my husband and children, especially along the Cane River. It’s full of nostalgia, and peace.🤍

The second reason—the connection to my Pawpaw Bill. He always had magnolia flowers around his home, and after his passing, I knew that when it came time to name my business, it had to be Magnolia. It was more than a flower—it was my family, memory, and home.🤍

But the meaning doesn’t stop there.

On January 11th, 2025, I finally started moving into my spa room—placing the final touches on a space that held so much hope. Later that night, I realized what the date was… my Aunt Teri’s birthday. She was a second mom to me, helping raise me and my brother while our dad served overseas in the Army. Her love and presence shaped so much of who I am.🤍

And now, today—June 17th—I celebrate 6 months in business. It’s also the 20-year anniversary of Aunt Teri’s passing from cancer. A heartbreaking but beautiful reminder that she’s still with me in spirit.🤍

Just a few weeks ago, my son and I were going through some old cabinets at my parents’ house when we found my Aunts funeral program. What brought me to tears?
