Sooner Sermon:
“The House They’ve Never Conquered”
By: Crimson Preacher (GBS)

The Crimson Preacher has had extra time to work on his sermon. He has made his list and checked it twice. It has grown long and reminds us all why we fear giving the preacher too much free time to prep! But this experience doesn’t happen every week! This is college football Playoff Time in Norman, Oklahoma!

Brothers and sisters of the crimson congregation,
tonight the lights shine brighter than they ever have in Norman.

Not just a game.
Not just a rematch.
The first home playoff game in the history of Oklahoma football.

This isn’t Bryant-Denny.
This isn’t neutral ground.
This is Owen Field—where ghosts wear crimson and the turf remembers every battle fought for it.

And yes… Alabama comes back seeking repayment. Yes, they are used to a sea of Crimson. Yes, they are a mighty opponent with great tradition. The colors are Crimson v. Crimson, but also Blue v. Blue… the bluest of blue in fact… Blue Blood lists begin with these two teams!

They remember that night in Tuscaloosa.
Remember the shock.
Remember the silence.
Remember losing at home by two—
a margin thin as a blade, sharp enough to cut pride clean in half.

They’ll tell themselves this time will be different.

But hear me now:

Revenge doesn’t travel well to Norman.

The Rematch Reality

Alabama arrives polished, powerful, and prideful.
They arrive thinking history will bend itself to them.

But Oklahoma arrives proven.

We didn’t steal one in Tuscaloosa.
We took it—snap by snap, possession by possession.

And now the tables aren’t turned…
They’re nailed to the floor.

And Then There’s RMT…

Oh yes—
RMT is back.

More sacks than Santa.
More pressure than finals week.
More disruption than a false start on third and short.

Quarterbacks don’t sleep when he’s healthy.
They hear footsteps in clean pockets.
They rush throws that don’t need rushing.
They make decisions they regret in film rooms forever.

Tonight, Alabama’s protection schemes will be tested not by noise alone—but by violence in pads.

The House Factor

This crowd isn’t background noise.
It’s a force multiplier.

Every third down becomes a storm.
Every Alabama huddle a test of composure.
Every mistake echoes longer than it should.

Norman has waited for this moment.

Decades of dominance.
Years of heartbreak.
Close calls.
Missed chances.

And now—
the playoff comes home.

The Question Isn’t Can Alabama Return the Favor

The real question is this:

Can Alabama survive four quarters
in a stadium that knows it can beat them…
with a defense that smells fear…
and a crowd that refuses to sit down?

Because Oklahoma already answered the first question back in Tuscaloosa.

Final Word

Tonight is not about rankings.
Not about brands.
Not about television narratives.
Not about the last 15 years.

Tonight is about who owns the moment.

And the moment lives in Norman.

Let Alabama knock.
Let them remember.

But when the door opens—
it opens with thunder of Boomer ….Sooner
It feeds a defensive fury,
It’s a program that finally gets its playoff night at home. Long overdo moment.
