Last night and I finally got to see “The sound of freedom”. I would be lying if I didn’t say that I felt incredibly nauseous while watching this movie and wanted to walk out within the opening scenes. I found myself asking myself how can you even eat popcorn while watching this movie.” It felt so “first world probs” and just gross which ultimately led to me neurotically just picking up pieces of popcorn and throwing them back down (after I obviously ate a good amount). Idk if anyone else noticed this but I caught myself trying to turn my head to look away but I couldn’t /Obviously). I’m glad because we need to be exposed to these horrible things in life, because once you see them you cannot unsee them.

Regardless of what I just said I do highly recommend it, it was beautifully done, JUST GO! They do a really great job showing everything without showing anything. This isn’t just a feel good movie (obviously) but REAL LIFE it is extremely important that people know what’s going on, and that it still is. Exposure sheds light and where light is darkness cannot be. Similar to where Jesus’s name is the devil cannot be.

I don’t usually get super spiritual on social media, but I feel such a strong gut wrenching draw to express this. I personally believe in God, (obviously you have picked up on that by now) and that his healing power is stronger than anything you could ever imagine. God is the ultimate healer. He is 100% capeable of wiping everything clean no matter who your are or what age you are. It doesn’t matter if someone did something to you. Or vice versa You are worth it to him whether you feel deserving or not. You just have to be open and willing. Sometimes even then you don’t have to be and he still will. God is so good because he uses the willing to allow him to do amazing things. You are worthy, you are not a lost cause. Your life is precious!! YOU MATTER!!

Sadly with sexual abuse/assault victims they are the ones who have to regather the pieces of their life that someone so selfishly chose to take something that wasn’t theirs to begin with. Which is then followed with feels of shame, guilt, the belief they did something to deserve it, disgust/ feeling dirty or tainted, over active sexuality, having no sense of self or self worth, self loathing, rage/anger, finding their value in another person (which leads to abusive relationships as well as drug issues, or controlling behaviors, people pleasing, body image issues, Stockholm syndrome, the list goes on and on..

At the end of the day whether you believe in God or not it is undeniable that there is something VERY EVIL about someone who could do something so vile to a child (or any other human actually) plus make a profit off of it. There is always a good and evil spiritual warfare happening you just have to open your eyes and be sensitive to it.

Sexual abuse & human trafficking has always been a controversial & hushed conversation. Which I do get because it makes people feel incredibly uncomfortable. Why? Because it SHOULD make you feel disgusting inside , you SHOULD be enraged by it, because it is absolute pure Evil. No one who is trafficked or sexually abused ever asked for these things to happen to them. Yes they are all victims but they don’t have to stay a victim. I promise you you can rebuild your life and grow from any trauma. Sadly even with guidance and the right people helping these kids, teens and adults who come out of these types of traumatic environments it can still take years to process through. If there is anyone you know who has endured this, just pray for them. It’s the easiest free way you can contribute to there life. They don’t even need to know.

For all the sexual abuse/trafficked victims please prioritize yourself and rise up! You have some much to offer in this life even if it is just healing and being happy. That happiness and health permeates into everyone around you. I know that’s easier said then done but do not let these horrible people take more of your life away from you! You are important, you have a purpose, you may help someone one day! YOUR LIFE MATTERS!
