Another great morning walk with my bestie!!

Paige had her 1st football game as a Bixby Spartan Cheerleader! She loved it and is so excited for the season and this new adventure!

Please pray for all the teachers and school staff members if your life! Right now has been the hardest time in my 19 years of teaching, so many things to worry about!
As a special educator, going to school with even a sniffle could be extremely harmful to my students; many are immune compromised. They don't understand masks, can't see my face to understand emotions, they want hugs and snuggles but it's not safe. We don't learn on a computer, so despite a pandemic, we come to school to learn in person; academics, social Skills and life skills... and we have fun doing it!
I worry about my paras who ran my room while I was home sick, who are now sick themselves.
I worry about my fellow teachers who are working tireless hours, probably while sick, creating both in-person and virtual lessons to engage their students.
I worry about our cafeteria worker who are trying to feed our children from a distance and in person safely! And our office staff who TRY and fill our absences, distribute chromebooks on a moments notice, fill in where they can and keep our school running. Now, let's look at our administration, our fearlesseaders who carry the burden of ALL of this on their shoulders. The ones who tell us, take care of ourself and our family, knowing there will not be coverage. They try and shield us from the bad, so we can keep doing the good. We are tired, exhausted and overwhelmed, but keep going because we LOVE the kids. Please know, all the educators you know are doing the absolute best they can. Say a prayer and show kindness.

Distance learning isn't terrible! This kid has learned so much responsibility, time management and insane amount of technology skills. Yes, in person is better, but lets give these kids credit- they know how to figure out almost ALL technical difficulties and look up any information they need. And a shout out to all the teachers, bending over backwards to make DL meaningful.
