What was I up to in 2016? Split dying (and FRYING) my hair, drinking a lot, taking random “aesthetic” pics, posting my work without hesitation, going to shows with friends and collecting records. Plus a lot of other cringe activities. OH and taking a LOT of selfies! Duh! What can I say? I was a 23 year old living on her own in the “big city” 😌

I’ve been working hard to perfect a new (to me) extension method that’s truly seamless, comfortable and easily hidden.

I’m offering two all inclusive packages. One for clients who simply want thicker, fuller hair to match their own length. And one for clients who want additional density and length!

Each package includes everything we’ll need from start to finish, with the exception of a color correction, all hair coloring of your natural hair will be included as well as take home products AND the cost of your extensions.

No wrapped this year, just a few things I’m looking forward to instead 😌

I have so many goals for the new year, both large and small. Simple and also scary. While some people love to share their goals out loud, I’ve learned that for myself it’s best to move quietly and keep some things close to my chest (for now 😉)

Grateful for finishing another year in business, my 6th overall, and equally grateful for the opportunity to start another year surrounded by a great team, amazing clients, friends + family who support my dreams and a partner who has never doubted my vision ♥️

Enjoy the last day of 2025 you guys! And don’t pressure yourself to do anything crazy (unless you want to), it’s totally okay to go into a New Year feeling rested and whole instead of manic and stressed out because you forgot to clean behind your stove this year.

In honor of finishing my last clients of the year, let’s looks back at my absolute favorites from the last 365!

If I’m being super crazy honest (because that’s just me), the year I opened the salon (2023) and even last year I was worried I had lost my creative spark.

I was so bogged down with the mental load of learning how to be a leader and actively growing a salon clientele, while also working on creating systems and automations in my business. It wasn’t that I didn’t want to do hair anymore…but for a little while I felt like my creativity was on auto pilot.

This year the passion I have for my craft returned full force.

Maybe it’s because the right team fell into place (meaning I can lead a lot more easily), or maybe it’s because all of the hard work I put into creating systems finally paid off, but regardless I’m glad the fog lifted eventually.

If you’re a new stylist, or even a stylist five years in, and you start to feel that spark dying out, I want to tell you that it’s normal and to keep going!

Invest in education. Learn a new technique or speciality (for me that was extensions!). Surround yourself with creative people and with stylists who are just as focused on their skill set as you want to be. And give yourself a little grace because of course there’s no constant in any journey 😌

Special shoutout to the , .mariehair, , for pushing me in all the right directions always! Seeing this group of stylists exercise their own creativity inspires me every day.

This year has been full of lessons to say the least 😌

And every lesson is a tool! Every tough situation, stressful day or outright mistake has led me down a path that is more rewarding than I could have imagined even a year ago.

This first two years of salon ownership felt so unsteady, looking back I can clearly see every red flag and mistake I made but in the moment I was truly just trying to survive the day to day.

As we approach the end of this year I can say with confidence things improved ten fold. Our salon saw a huge amount of growth, and I personally have grown so much in 12 short months. Im back on my personal growth bu****it and that feels SO good. (Being in survival mode is really the pits)

I hope I’ve mastered the art of learning lessons as much as possible, and I’m honestly excited for all of the lessons 2026 has in store for me!

The after + the process 😌

Our goals for this session were to make her base richer and deeper, bring back depth throughout the mids and ends and also keep a smidge of dimension!

This client typically comes in about 2-3 times a year, which is perfect for a dimensional look that grows out smoothly. She is a natural brunette, so even though we took her a bit darker, her natural grow out will blend in with the depth nicely until she’s due for another refresh.

I’ve got TWO dimensional color sessions left before the new year, and yes, I am accepting new clients if you’re in need!

If someone asked me how you build a businesses culture I could spout off a really business oriented answer. Or I could simply say “the people”.

The team and clients at Adorn have one really big thing in common, they’re amazing people. And having amazing people makes having an amazing culture and vibe really easy.

I PROMISE YOU that as your stylist and as a salon owner most of us really are out here just doing our best to give you the results you want so you walk away happy!

Honestly in today’s age of social media it’s really frustrating and disheartening to see so much hate (or just plain inaccuracy) towards hair stylists online.

I totally understand that seeing a professional isn’t for everyone, and I also get that some clients have been genuinely traumatized by bad experiences in salons BUT that doesn’t mean we deserve these broad blanket statements that make us “less than” people working in a more traditional field.

I also promise that neither myself or anyone in our salon is judging you or your hair! Our salon is a safe space for clients to come as they are. 😌

Brunette to Copper? No problem 😌 but we have some work to do first!

If you’re a client reading this, all you need to know is that we can’t just put our goal color on top of a brunette base like Sarah’s and expect it to look like our inspo pic (last slide).

First we must lift! AKA bleach time 🤭 once our canvas is lifted to the appropriate level of lightness then we can get a lil silly and really go for it.

Thankfully Sarah’s hair was really obedient and easy going, and this turned out to be a simple switch with some expertise and strategy tossed in.

If you’re a stylist reading this: don’t be afraid to take your brunettes in a different direction! Most clients are into trying something new, and this process isn’t as intense as it seems. Bring in a model and give it a go!

We are really loving all of the fall reds in the salon right now, and we’re having so much fun getting creative with our formulations. Should I share this one?!

Consistency, discipline and bravery are 3 things that no “How I got booked and busy in 6 months” online masterclass can teach you.

Unfortunately, and also fortunately, the hardest things to learn are habits and skills you develop over time by showing up even when you don’t want to!

The biggest trap I fall into myself is getting too comfortable. When I’m really busy it’s so easy to think I don’t need to keep pushing, but eventually I hit a bit of a lull and realize that if past me had kept up the rhythm I had then I wouldn’t be seeing those little gaps in my schedule.

And yes, even veteran stylists who have a really solid clientele can have a drop in bookings! Literally NOBODY is immune to a slow week or even month. That’s why it’s so important to keep up a sustainable pace!
