Teak Beauty

Teak is an NYC-based beauty brand that uses color theory to design a library of lip colors for a rich palette of brown skin tones. It was developed remotely between London and Brooklyn by Telugu sisters Nupoora Reddy and Pooja Reddy. They named the brand Teak in homage to the intricately carved Teak wood doors that adorn homes all over South Asia. The brand believes that color is responsive to the world around it, and has the power to be surprising, artful, and intimate. Each color that Teak develops is seen best in context - whether the context is the lip tone it blends with, the brown skin it complements, or the persona it brings to life. With each shade, the brand’s South Asian color creators take careful consideration to make space for a new impression of color, ultimately defined by you. As a small business, we currently focus all of our R&D and user testing on South Asian skin tones. However, we welcome and encourage all races, ethnicities, and colors of people to enjoy our products as it works for them.
