Dieting. 95%+ of diets fail the people that try them. Think about that. Its wild! So many people try another diet each year, even though they don't work.

Diets make us sad because we are not able to get the body the world says we NEED, freaking out trying to get it anyways, which takes all our focus & distracts us from what really needs our attention, all while making us weak from hunger.

Excuse the run on sentence, but imagine just how great & strong women can be if we didn't waste our energy on dieting.

Dieting has kept you from your success๐Ÿ‘ฟ

That is why I don't diet & that is why I don't encourage diets.

That is also why my programs encourage you to think about and develop all parts of yourself.

Health & happiness don't come from the number on the scale or your tag.

I look forward to a much better 2021! However, I've seen amazing strength, beauty and kindness come from this mess. I hope we can carry it forward.

Finding the positive in the dark is hard. Pulling out your strengths can be exhausting. DM me if I can be of service in any way.

Delicious salad RECIPE & how to SKIP the DETOX CLEANSE and still feel good post holiday fun.

I've been getting so many messages... " I'm trying to be mindful and enjoy the holidays but all the parties 1 after the other & so much food... just make me feel heavy & gross. Help!"

This is your reminder you don't need a crazy diet, juice cleanse or detox. You may just need a few tips.

1. If you are hungry eat a bit of nutrient dense food before the party so you don't only fill up on party food.

2. Start with adding in some great veggies like this amazing salad (recipe below)

3. Try ending your night with a glass of herbal tea or warm water

Head to my stories for more tips in case you haven't seen them yet.

Recipe

5 oz arugula

8 oz mushrooms

1/2 small red onion

2 plum tomatoes

1 avocado

3 T Evoo

2 T Raspberry vinegar

Salt & Garlic to taste

Directions

Preheat your oven to 350. Clean mushrooms, place on a baking tray, sprinkle with salt & pepper then bake for 10-15 minutes until tender and let them cool.

Place arugula in a bowl, thinly slice red onion and tomatoes and layer on top of the greens. Chunk the avocado and scoop out on top. When the mushrooms are cool, slice thinly and layer on top.

Combine dressing ingredients together and drizzle over the salad. Mix it all together and enjoy.

There is no right or wrong way to celebrate the holidays. The food you ate doesn't define you.

You may feel heavy, bloated or "gross", but your body still needs nourishment.

Instead of trying to avoid food, focus on foods that love your body back. Foods that will make you feel good include protein, complex carbs, fruits, veggies & lots of water.

Don't forget to move too. That will help you get rid of any sluggish feelings.

Feel good & ENJOY the holidays!

Chanukah Sameach!

It's finally here and I have the recipe you have all been waiting for๐Ÿ˜

This recipe is a bit tricky to work with as all are, but it's worth it!!!

Swipe to see the texture inside.

You can make thus recipe into a variety of fried treats.
This recipe can be used for traditional or round

Recipe

2 c gf flour blend

1/3 c gf flour blend reserve for the end

1 c milk

1/4 c butter or oil

1 egg

2 T sugar

4 1/2 y baking powder

1/2 t salt

Grapeseed oil for frying

Directions

***gf flour blends are all slightly different

Mix all ingredients together except the 1/3 c gf flour. Add the last 1/3 c slowly **only if your batter feels way too loose. Add a bit at a time make sure it is mixed well.

Heat oil. *gf donuts need to cook a bit longer to be fully cooked inside.

Use an ice cream scoop to drop the batter into the heated oil for sufganiyot.

Use a piping bag to make round donuts or funnel cake straight into the oil. For the funnel cake you will want to snip the bag closer to the point where it will be more narrow.

Whatever you decide to make will need to be flipped halfway through. When they finish frying let them cool and top with your favorite topping

We used
Fiordifrutta & lightly dusted with cinnamon sugar.

Enjoy

The holidays are coming and that comes along with lots parties as well as stress for some of us.

When chatting with some of you I understood that holiday foods & parties are a big part of the stress. That made me so sad ๐Ÿ˜”

Yes, we want to be healthy so we can feel good, but holidays should be about celebration not food anxiety!

Here are a few tips to help you navigate.

1 enjoy some filling foods in addition to party foods

2 allow yourself to ENJOY holiday foods

3 don't try to count calories

4 don't weigh yourself every day

5 drink water

6 don't beat yourself up if you feel like you overate

If hosting:

1 make sure there is protein not just party food. It doesn't need to be boring, it can even be fried like this schnitzel, or sushi - it definitely was a winner in the polls.

2 make sure there are greens around. Greens help your digestion and it helps balance out the heavy feelings often felt after a big party.

If going out:

1 if you don't know if filling food will be served eat something small before you head out.

2 feel free to bring something you know you love and that you enjoy to the party

Stay tuned for some epic party treats coming next.

It's been a hard year that somehow seems to know how to get harder and harder.

It may be difficult but you can always find a little something to be grateful for.

Gratitude is so amazing in the sense that when you find 1 tiny spark of goodness in your life to be grateful for it starts to grow.

Trust me I've been there. Dig deep. Find Gratitude. Watch the blessings blossom.

Happy Thanksgiving!

Cheesy Spaghetti Squash Boats

Dairy talk. Again.
Recipe & PSA below.

Another big complaint I hear about dairy is that it sits heavy in the gut. Sometimes it feels heavy it makes you backed up.

There are 3 ways I address this.

1. Use less dairy - so instead of using heavy cream & cheese I'll use a non dairy cream from cashew milk & cheese. Flavor is ๐Ÿ’ฃ & you still get the stringy cheesy goodness.

2. Switch up the carbs for something lighter. Using spaghetti squash or spiralized zucchini will leave you feeling a lot less heavy than pasta.

3. Enjoy dairy a little less frequently

If you have this issue you can try all or even 1 of these options. I'd love to hear your thoughts if you do.

Cheesy Spaghetti Squash Boats

Preheat oven to 400

Slice the squash in half & clean out the seeds. Plave each side face down on a pan and cook for 30-40 minutes depending on the size of the squash. Let it sit for 10 minutes then turn over and use a fork to scrape the spaghetti strings away from the peel.

Top with

1/4 c cashew cream

Chopped mushrooms

Chopped zucchini

Salt & spices of choice

Garlic

Orgegano

Chili flakes

Tomato sauce - optional

4-6 oz shredded cheese

Put the squash back in the oven until cheese is melted and slightly bubbling- approximately 8 minutes.

Serves 2-4 depending on size of Squash

Toast with Greek Yogurt Spread topped with Banana & Cinnamon. YUM!

I don't eat a lot of dairy which is why you don't see me posting dairy foods often. It's not that I don't like it, but like many of you, my body often doesn't.

However, the truth is not all dairy is created equal. So, let's talk dairy!

We all love it, but for some of us our body seems to hate it. Why?

Dairy is inflammatory and can cause congestion and sinus issues. Additionally, the meds that animals are given and the processes the dairy goes through can make it super difficult for your gut to digest.

However, unless you have a dairy allergy chances are there are some items you can enjoy without harm. The key is knowing what and how.

Greek yogurt is high in protein and contains good bacteria. Therefore many people that have a hard time digesting dairy are actually able to enjoy it without pain. It doesn't just need to be a boring breakfast food; in fact it should never be boring! Greek yogurt can be used for dressings, dips and spreads, smoothies, yogurt parfait and overnight oats just to list a few.

Goat dairy is another great alternative to conventional dairy. While very similar to cow milk products, the protein in goat milk is different. It is usually the protein in the product that makes digestion difficult. Therefore, for many, goats milk can be enjoyed without side effects. Goat milk is also a great source of calcium, healthy fat & has properties that are great for gut health. There is a large variety of goat dairy products available that you can use as you would any regular dairy product.

Another tip for those with only minor symptoms post dairy foods: try organic. The animals are treated so much better & the quality that much greater - thereby minimizing aftereffects.

Missing your dairy? Try 1 of these and let me know how you feel.
