Brooklyn was BLUE last night. 💙

In honor of Prostate Cancer Awareness Month, Novellis Health welcomed our community for free prostate cancer screenings, followed by an evening celebrating five incredible prostate cancer survivors.

We heard from our physicians, celebrated with survivors and their families, and ended the night by lighting our Brooklyn building blue.

One of the survivors we honored first came to Novellis through one of our free community screening events, where his prostate cancer was detected. Last night, he stood with us as a survivor.

That’s why we screen. That’s why we show up. 💙

September 7th marks World Radiotherapy Awareness Day.

The date honors September 7, 1953, when the first patient was treated on a clinical linear accelerator. Everything since has been an effort to aim it better.

This year’s theme is one voice for radiotherapy, and that voice is about access.

Access is not a machine. It is a team.

Radiation therapists who stand beside patients through every treatment, and ring the bell with them when the final one is complete.

Physicists who check a plan, then check it again. Nurses who notice when someone comes in alone.

Patient navigators making sure every test is completed, every appointment is coordinated, and transportation is arranged so getting to treatment doesn’t become another burden.

Financial counselors helping patients understand their coverage, navigate costs, and find support when they need it.

Because access to cancer care is about much more than having the technology. Patients have to be able to reach it, afford it, and make it through treatment.

That is a big part of why Novellis Health exists in the communities we serve. We are privately and physician owned. We don’t answer to outside investors. We answer to our patients and to the communities that trust us with their care.

Our goal is simple: bring advanced cancer care closer to home and remove as many barriers as we can between a patient and the treatment they need.
