How does your hair really grows?

All humans are born with all the hair follicles that they will have for the rest of their lives.
Your head alone had around 100,000. But that can differ depending on genetics 🧬, general health and countless environmental factors. On average your hair grows about 1 cm per month but your hair does not all grow at once ☝️, hair growth depends on genetics 🧬, environment, health ,diet, age ext.
Hair stops growing only when you are dead 💀.

There are 3 stages of hair growth:
Anagen, AKA growth phase, lasts 3-5 years. This stage depends mostly on genetics. About 85%–90% of the hairs on one's head are in the anagen phase at any given time.

Catagen, OR the transitional phase, is when the hair growth slows and the follicle shrinks to about 1/6 of its original size causing the hair shaft to be pushed upwards, nourishing blood supply to the follicle slows and melanin production stops. This phase is about 2 years long.

Telogen, the resting phase or shedding phase. the follicle remains dormant for one to three months. %10-15 of the hairs on one's head are in this phase of growth at any given time.
At some point, a new follicle will begin to grow again pushing the old hair away from the root and the hair will fall out.
The process results in normal hair loss known as shedding.
