Quick post....enjoying my day in BK. It's the holiday season so just a reminder to shop local and shop small! Rocked my new earrings with my dad hat...had some banging shrimp n grits from then rolled over to for some festive holiday wrapping paper✊🏾. Tis the season y'all! Happiest Birthday To MY GUY ...There are not enough photos, captions, hashtags or words in the dictionary to capture the essence of you. You are everything that is ever need to all the people all the time. You lead and love with grace and quiet humility and you are a calming presence in the midst of all that goes on in this world. You are a grill master, songwriter extraordinaire, expert suitcase packer, talented tailgater, world class bartender, superb listener, non-celebrity chef to the stars (aka me), best vacation buddy, awesome son/brother/uncle/ cousin/co-worker/boss/friend and GREATEST HUSBAND! You put up with all my shenanigans, support me through everything and roll with all the punches...and always manage to look super cool while doing it all! My wish for you is that you feel all the love, pride, joy, adoration and happiness that you dish out daily to everyone you know...not just today, but for ALL your days! Openinng night tennis whites at the ! Naomi Osaka did not disappoint. She came through with the W! and I have been going to the US Open for a few years now as a part of our anniversary summer staycation...🤔hmmmm, maybe next we will check out the Australian or French Open...or perhaps Wimbledon? We tryna travel the world and the 7 seas, right? ...so why not?! Sweet dreams....

Kicking off my sabbatical like....

A much needed week of rest in Mexico was right on time! Looking forward to a few more months of more downtime, more travel, more fam time, more me time....

Definitely time to RECALIBRATE.

George Floyd was a positive force in the lives of those who loved him and it is my prayer that the legacy of his life and his tragic, unfortunate and unnecessary death will positively impact many generations to come. George Floyd was loved. It does not take the words or testimony of others to humanize someone who is simply human, though in this case we are grateful for those words that certainly made a difference because that is what it took...the ability for others to see him, a Black man, as human. We are on a journey spanning many generations. I pray to see meaningful, sustainable and irrevocable change in my lifetime. George Floyd was human and George Floyd was loved. George Floyd is yet another bold spark in this fire that unites us in this fight for change. REST IN POWER, SIR. 🙏🏽✊🏾🕊

At Girls for Gender Equity, we center the needs of Black girls and gender expansive youth of color and through our advocacy, organizing, programming and policy efforts, work to remove systemic barriers so that they can live self-determined lives. 2020 has truly shown how critical our work is.
