today i got to ring the mf’in bell for finishing 8 rounds of chemo!! halfway thru i was unsure if id be able to keep going, but here we are- done all 8!! i still need to have a surgery in the fall but today we celebrate! today was a huge milestone in my journey and i am so thankful that i got to celebrate w some of our fav people.
thank you to everyone who was able to make it today, mid work day is tough so i appreciate it more than you know. thank you to everyone who has been checking in, sending messages, dropping things off even when we don’t ask for it and for being in my corner. thank you to Edward Banes who has come to every single treatment with me, didn’t leave my side and has been taking care of me on the days i don’t have the energy for anything, i can’t wait to get back to our normal life and our future plans. i love you so much and couldn’t get thru this without you. my mom dad and Jeff have dropped everything when we needed an extra hand esp on the days i said i didn’t need anything, they showed up because i did need something and it was just them. I’m truly blessed w an amazing family and so much freakin support.
i forgot to get a pic w my care team of amazing nurses so i will get one w them too. i am beyond thankful for every single one of them for being a part in saving my life. there will never be enough ways to thank these women and i hope they know how much they impact each patient they see. truly angels on this earth.
my fight isn’t over yet but finishing chemo is a huge part of the fight. here’s to moving on to the next part of treatment to hopefully being cancer free 🔔🔔🔔

today last year Ed and i walked into a hospital on our first day of vacation not knowing 12 hours later we would lose our first baby, our sweet boy, at just about 17 weeks. losing a baby is a kind of pain i wouldn’t wish on anyone, it’s the biggest heartbreak i have ever felt and continue to feel.
today i am receiving my 6th round of chemo. although it seems cruel that it’s today of all days, it’s on brand for our luck. today i am choosing to continue to fight for not only my future, but for the future of our boys siblings, for Ed’s future, for our family’s future. today i continue to fight like i did till the very last second last year for our boy. we still question ‘why us, why our boy’ and we still miss him and who he would have been.
life sometimes is just really unfair and its been unfair for us for the past year. but we are choosing to remain positive and we still choose to show up for each other everyday, even through the hard and scary moments.
we love you baby boy, and we so wish you were here with us. keep watching over us, i hope we make you proud every day 💙

little life/work update!
as some of you know i have been on a medical leave from work since mid april. i was having a hard time eating, couldn’t swallow food, it was getting stuck and i had lost 30lbs since Feb. after having some scans and testing done i was diagnosed w cancer in my stomach/lower esophagus. since then i have had 2 surgeries and have already gone through 3 rounds of chemo- i will need 8 rounds total. chemo treatments are every other week and on my off weeks i have been feeling amazing.
i am planning on coming back to work in July, every other week 2 days a week until i am done chemo. i will be working Monday & Thursdays for the time being and not my usual 10+ hour days. i will be taking clients without double booking and will need to give myself breaks to sit and relax, so please be patient with me as i am navigating how much to work while still in treatment. i will more than likely have to have a surgery in the fall that could take me out of work again but im unsure for how long or when that will be. i cant wait to get back to my suite and see everyone.. i miss laughing, gossiping and being creative with all of you.
i will post the days i will be working this week, please reach out if you’d like to schedule an apt- i will also be texting you if you are a client as well.
Ed and i have been overwhelmed and beyond grateful for everyone who’s checked in, sent care packages and been here for us the last couple months. it’s been a whirlwind of events and turned our lives upside down and we are so thankful for everyone in our corner. if you feel like something is wrong please go get checked out and never stop advocating for yourself. this was the last thing i expected to hear from testing but i am so glad i went to get checked out as quick as i did.
