We have an Important announcement …
After many heartfelt conversations, we have made one of the most difficult decisions of our lives.

Due to the recent flooding and the extensive damage to Color Bar 51, along with the uncertainty of how long our shop will remain closed, we have decided that it is time to close Color Bar 51 permanently and continue pursuing our individual future endeavors.

This decision was not made lightly. Color Bar 51 has meant so much to both of us, and it absolutely breaks our hearts to say goodbye. We are incredibly grateful for every client who trusted us, supported us, and became part of our journey over the years. You truly became more than clients—you became family.

Over the coming days, we will be reaching out to our clients personally regarding future appointments and next steps.

Amanda “Mandy” Chidester will be continuing her career at Salon Meraki, where we know she will continue doing amazing work and taking wonderful care of her clients.

As for Brandy, she has made the difficult decision to step away from the hair industry at this time to focus on the next chapter of her life.While this chapter is coming to an end, the memories, friendships, and gratitude will last a lifetime.

From the bottom of our hearts, thank you for every appointment, every conversation, every laugh, and every bit of support you’ve given us. Color Bar 51 was more than just a salon—it was a dream that you helped make possible, and for that we will be forever grateful.

❤️To all of my wonderful clients,
As many of you know, our small town salon was impacted by the recent flood, and is currently under construction.
I am so incredibly grateful to Sierra Pasterick for her kindness and generosity in offering me a place to work at Salon Meraki until I'm able to return to my salon. Your support means more than you know!
Until further notice, all appointments will be held at: 📍 12 Hartman Plaza Buckhannon, WV 26201
My online booking will reopen this evening, and I can't wait to get back to doing what I love and serving each of you.
Thank you all for your patience, support, and understanding during this time. I look forward to seeing you soon! ❤️

UPDATE: timeline is looking at 8-10 weeks for repairs.

Yesterday we were finally able to get into the salon, and the damage is far more significant than we had hoped.

Unfortunately, the flood impacted nearly everything. Our equipment, cabinetry, walls, insulation, and other parts of the salon have sustained extensive damage and will need to be replaced before we can safely reopen.

At this time, we expect to be closed for at least the next couple of weeks while we navigate the cleanup and rebuilding process. We are currently determining our next steps and exploring temporary options to continue serving our clients.We ask for a little patience as we work through everything.

If you have an upcoming appointment and need to be seen sooner, please don’t hesitate to reach out. We have some incredible salons and talented stylists in our area that we’d be happy to recommend while we’re temporarily closed.

Thank you to everyone who has reached out, checked on us, and offered help—it means more than you know. Your patience, kindness, and support during this difficult time mean everything to us.

We’ll continue to keep everyone updated as our plans come together. We can’t wait to welcome you back to Color Bar 51 as soon as it’s safe to do so. ❤️

One photo can’t capture the devastation our community is facing.

Like so many others, our salon has been hit hard by the flooding. Right now we’re focused on getting through one day at a time.

We were able to get into the salon, & we have about 2ft of standing water remaining .

We won’t know damages until the water recedes more,and we don’t know how soon that will take place.

We ask that our clients please be patient with us as we navigate the coming days & weeks.

A message for Brandy and Mandys Clients:
😓Please send some good vibes for our little salon! 💔We will keep our clients updated but as of right now our salon has been impacted by the floods and we are unable to get to it to see what damages have been done as the water is still too high.
