Rosehip Seed Oil (Rosa canina) is a cold-pressed oil that’s naturally rich in essential fatty acids. That’s why it feels light on the skin and absorbs quickly instead of sitting on the surface.
Here’s the chemistry behind it:
• ~45% Linoleic acid (Omega-6) • ~35% Linolenic acid (Omega-3) • ~15% Oleic acid (Omega-9) • Beta-carotene • Phytosterols • Tocopherols
These fatty acids help support the skin barrier and give the oil its lightweight feel.
Formulator tip: Most formulas use rosehip oil under 10%. The natural beta-carotene can tint products orange if you go higher.
Store in a cool, dark place or the fridge. Shelf life is about 6 months.
