ny, and bass lines. Music has chords, tempo, and rhythm. Certain aspects of music also convey color. Perfume, like music, often has top, middle, and base notes. The chords of perfumery are called accords, and are the combination of several aromas to create depth and breadth similar to the function of chords in music. Fragrance may also have color, physically or psychologically, and may even have a sense of rhythm. A musical composition also conveys something that seems greater than the sum of its parts. And if its really good, it is memorable, invoking a sense of meaning that draws the listener to return to it time and time again. A good musical composition creates a sense of mystery, curiosity, story, and even timelessness. Fragrance, like music is composed of individual components which together express something inspiring, captivating and beautiful. Like music, fragrance conveys something that seems greater than the sum of its parts, and if its really good, it also is memorable, invoking a sense of meaning and wonder that draws the wearer back again and again. A good fragrance composition, like music, creates a sense of mystery, curiosity, story, and even timelessness. The Signor Perfumes logo is based on a music notation symbol, the treble clef, and represents the similarity of fragrance to the other arts. The clef is also left-right reversed, with a small break in the upper right corner of the logo, allowing it to be seen as both an “S” for Signor, and as a treble clef. This distinction yet unity expresses the parts and whole idea that is evident in all of the fine arts. The reversed clef also conveys rearrangement and exploration of new and unique concepts: like writers of music play with themes -- inverting, reversing, twisting, repeating, changing, and distorting them -- perfumers do the same. Like many kinds of art, in perfumery the goal is to achieve and express beauty; some aspect of life that comes from, or touches the soul and spirit. This is the vision and passion of Signor Perfumes.
