Did you know your body can “remember “ a piercing ?

A healed piercing creates a tract of specialized scar-like tissue called an epithelialized fistula. If you remove the jewelry, that tract may partially or completely close—but the tissue can remain and sometimes makes repiercing easier in the exact same location if enough healthy tissue remains.
💗 Piercer tip: A piercing that looks closed on the outside isn't necessarily completely closed internally. Never force jewelry through a partially closed channel; a professional piercer can assess whether it can safely be reopened or needs to be repierced.
