The trauma from this storm has impacted so many. This storm has taken love ones away and so many tears has fell. We can’t gather and most of us are cold. The first thing I did with my son when power was restored was pray for the people who is still without! I am greatful for this lesson on life. This has revealed yet another disparity in the inner city. The infrastructure in Buffalo needs work! Specifically the black occupied ones. I say this because Elmwood near McKinley high school never lost power. The inner city is the oldest part of Buffalo. My home was build in 1910 and this storm has shown me what I need to do as a landlord, a family depends on me. I am aware that parts of the suburbs lost power, however, it wasn’t as long and the streets were clear a lot sooner. My street still has not been touched! I pray for our city and nation. We need to do better!
