Some seniors are special to a salon family. And then there’s Lilly.

For those who know M4, you know Lilly. Not just because she’s been here since day one, but because she’s Melanie’s daughter and truly grew up right alongside this salon. As M4 grew, so did Lilly. She was there through every stage, every change, every big dream, and every long salon day. In so many ways, this place holds pieces of her childhood, and she helped shape the love and care poured into this building.

Lilly was Melanie’s very first dollar earned inside these walls, Hannah’s very first haircut, and one of the biggest reasons this salon found its home in Buford in the first place. Over the years, our clients have watched her grow from the little girl hanging around the salon into the incredible young woman she is today. They’ve seen her sitting in the lobby or at the shampoo bowl after school, spending time chatting with her friends and moms during appointments, laughing in the back room, playing in the marching band at BHS games and on the field during soccer matches, helping clean up after long salon days, and somehow always knowing exactly when someone needed encouragement or kindness.
She has this quiet way about her that makes people feel safe and cared for… it’s the kind of empathy you can’t really teach. Lilly is brilliant in all the ways that matter most. She works unbelievably hard, whether it’s in the classroom, on the soccer field, in band, or helping out at the salon. She has handled every challenge put in front of her with so much grace—from crazy days of school and long practices to dealing with her shoulder injury and surgery last year. Watching her fight her way back stronger than before has been one of the greatest privileges, and we are so proud of her.

And somehow, even with everything on her plate, she still showed up for us. From sweeping floors and stocking color to literally saving the day when the city shut our water off mid-balayage and driving gallons of water to the salon so we could finish shampooing clients. (We still laugh about that one.) She has never been too important to help. Never too busy to care.
This fall, Lilly will head to Ottawa University in Kansas, where she’ll continue her soccer career as a goalkeeper while pursuing a future in education. We can already picture the kind of teacher she’s going to be: the one students remember forever. The safe place. The encourager. The person who notices the kid sitting quietly in the back of the room and makes sure they feel seen.

Lilly, we are endlessly proud of you. Proud of the way you carry yourself with kindness and humility. Proud of the way you show up for the people you love without ever asking for recognition. Proud of the strength you’ve shown through every challenge, and proud of the heart you bring into every room you walk into. Watching you grow into the person you are today has been such a gift to all of us.

There are truly not enough words to explain how deeply loved you are here. You are woven into the story of this salon in a way that always will be. So many of our memories have you in them, and so much of the warmth people feel when they walk through these doors has come from your presence over the years. You have been loved by this salon family through every stage of life, and that love is only going with you into this next chapter. No matter where life takes you, you will always have a place here, people cheering for you here, and a family here that could never forget you.
Thank you for letting us be a tiny part of your story while you became someone so incredibly special.

You are going to do so much good in this world, and no matter how far Kansas feels from Buford, you’ll always have all of us cheering you on from home. We love you so, so much.

Becky has been coming to see us for the past few years, and every appointment with her is full of laughs, stories, and chaos in the best way. She’s always so bubbly, happy to be here, and somehow still has not figured out how to sit still during a shampoo — which honestly feels impressive at this point.

We’ve loved getting to celebrate so many special moments with her over the years, from soccer games to homecomings, proms, and everything in between. Her family is wonderful, and we love Becky almost as much as she loves a good 90s blowout.

This fall, Becky will be attending Western Carolina University, and we are so proud of her and all she’s accomplished. We cannot wait to see everything ahead for her!

M4 loves our Class of 2026 seniors, and Collin is truly one of the most special ones for us to celebrate.

Collin has been seeing Melanie since his very first haircut, which means we’ve gotten to watch almost every stage of his life over the years. His family has always been such an important part of M4, and it’s hard to put into words how much these relationships mean to us after so many years together. Watching him grow from a not-so-tiny little boy running around the salon into the even-less-tiny man he is now has been really special for all of us — especially Melanie.

Collin has always been happy to jump in and help whenever we need something, even if that means being recruited to clean shelves the rest of us can’t reach. And although it only took him about 16 years to finally learn how to sit still for a haircut, we’d say the progress has been worth it.

He’s funny, hardworking, thoughtful, and the kind of person who shows up for people without ever needing attention for it. Over the years, we’ve watched him become someone his family and friends can really count on, and that says so much about the person he is.

Collin, watching you grow up has been such a privilege for all of us. We are incredibly proud of the young man you’ve become, and there’s not a doubt in our minds that you’re going to be successful wherever life takes you. More than anything, we hope you always know how loved and supported you are by all of us here at M4.

Carter and his family have been part of the M4 family for so long that it’s hard to remember a time before them. Since he and Lilly were in Pre-K together, we’ve had the privilege of watching Carter grow into such an incredible young man, and getting to celebrate all of his milestones along the way has meant so much to us.

Carter is always making us laugh, and no matter where we see him, he’s always kind, friendly, and genuinely fun to be around. We’ve especially loved getting to watch his years with the North Gwinnett drumline and seeing the dedication and passion he’s put into it over the years.

This fall, Carter will be attending Kennesaw State University, where he plans to major in Biology. We are so proud of everything he’s accomplished already and cannot wait to see where this next chapter takes him.

Congratulations, Carter! We’ll be cheering you on every step of the way.

M4 loves our Class of 2026 seniors, and Samantha is truly such a joy to celebrate. 🤍

Over the years, we’ve had the chance to watch Samantha grow into such a driven, thoughtful, and genuinely kind person. She fully puts up with us calling her for the most random questions, opinions, and last minute requests, and every appointment somehow turns into hours of catching up about life, stories, goals, and whatever chaos is currently happening at the salon. We genuinely love every second we get with her.

Samantha is the kind of person who works hard for the things she wants while still being incredibly sweet and caring to everyone around her, and watching her work toward her goals throughout high school has been so special. We are beyond proud to say that this fall she will be attending the University of Georgia to major in Sports and Exercise Science! Getting into her dream school is such an incredible accomplishment, and it is so deserved after all the hard work she’s put in over the years.

We cannot wait to see all the amazing things ahead for her, and we hope she never stops dreaming big.

Go Dawgs!

M4 loves our Class of 2026 seniors, and there are not enough words to describe how much Abby means to all of us. 🤍

Abby has been a special part of Melanie’s life since she was just 5 years old, and getting to watch her grow up over the years has been such a gift. As you can probably tell from some of the photos we’ve shared, she has truly grown up alongside the M4 family. We’ve had the privilege of celebrating so many moments with her over the years — swim team awards, school events, milestones, accomplishments, and all the little moments in between that end up meaning the most.

But more than anything, Abby is just an incredibly special person. She is kind in the most genuine, effortless way. She has such a sweet soul, such a caring heart, and the kind of presence that makes people feel instantly comfortable and loved. She brings so much warmth wherever she goes, and we honestly cannot imagine our salon family without her.

This fall, Abby will be attending the University of North Georgia in Dahlonega to pursue Nursing, and we truly cannot think of a more perfect path for her. The compassion, patience, and heart she already carries with her are exactly what will make her such an incredible nurse one day. We know she is going to make such a meaningful impact on the world, and we could not be more proud of the amazing young woman she has become.

Abby, we love you dearly and cannot wait to cheer you on through this next chapter.

M4 loves our Class of 2026 seniors, and we are so excited to celebrate Jack! 🤍

Jack has become such a fun part of our salon family over the years. He’s always willing to jump in and help out around the salon, and the best part is he never even asks what needs to be done — he just shows up, gets to work, and somehow ends up carrying the heaviest thing in the building without complaint.

Over the years, he has also attempted to explain the rules of lacrosse to us at least 15 different times. To be fair, we think we understand it now… but there’s still a very real chance we’ll need another explanation next season. Between his marathon lacrosse hair appointments, salon hangs, and entertaining us at Buford sporting events, Jack has given us so many laughs and great memories along the way.

This fall, Jack will begin at Kennesaw State University studying Cybersecurity and Computer Science, with plans to transfer to Georgia Tech in Spring 2028. We are so proud of him and cannot wait to see all the amazing things ahead for him in this next chapter.

Congratulations, Jack! We’ll be cheering you on every step of the way.

M4 loves our Class of 2026 seniors, and there are just some people who leave a mark on your heart forever — Holly is absolutely one of them. 🤍

Holly has been part of Melanie’s life for over a decade, which means she’s truly grown up alongside our M4 family. Over the years, we’ve shared so many memories with her — Madsen hair days, countless salon lunches and snacks, big life moments, celebrations, and so many everyday laughs in between. Her family has become such a meaningful part of our lives, and we feel so lucky to have had a front row seat watching Holly become the incredible young woman she is today.

Holly is bright in every sense of the word. She’s intelligent, hardworking, deeply kind, and somehow one of the funniest people in the room at the exact same time. She has a way of making everyone around her feel comfortable and loved, and her future is genuinely so exciting to think about because we know she is going to do amazing things.

This fall, Holly will be attending the Georgia Institute of Technology, where she’ll be majoring in Neuroscience while also being part of the Georgia Tech cheer program! We already know she’s going to make such an impact there, and we cannot wait to watch her cheer on the Yellow Jackets while stepping into this exciting new chapter of life.

Holly, we are so proud of you and so thankful for all the memories we’ve shared with you over the years. We’ll always be cheering you on.
