A lot of us have had some time to reminisce and do some introspection. I wanted share some and make you smile with this to someone that is such a bright light✨ in Los Angeles and for us all Wyllisa is our Leo’s long-standing client and all around beautiful person!🤩
In February, during Black History Month was honored at LA City Hall for her work in arts and entertainment. She is an inspirational woman and publicist. She was honored alongside of iconic comic legends like Luenell, Eddie Griffin, Marsha Warfield, Miss Laura Hayes and Tiffany Haddish as part of their Stand UP: The Art and Politics of Comedy for Black History Month. The dynamic exhibit ran through March 9th. Although LA and the entertainment industry may be on a ‘hiatus’ there’s no stopping this powerhouse!💪🏾 Let’s continue to celebrate and learn about POC accomplishments, contributions and history EVERY month! This is our Gabrielle She makes masks, since she can’t do hair. She has been sewing since she went into isolation because she wanted to support the healthcare workers and the homeless. She has given hundreds of masks away. She said it’s like going to war with the coronavirus and doing her part while staying at home. I have encouraged her to start selling her masks to try and stay afloat herself without having any income. So now every time someone purchases one, she gives one and they make it to people on the front lines and on the streets. Her efforts are genuine and she is the real deal. ✨Motivational Monday✨ These three strong & beautiful women are not just my clients & friends... they are knowledgeable, dynamic and experienced trainers here in They have been instrumental in my self-care, including nutrition & massage. Grace has built her business from the ground up. They all get their clients one by one and word-of-mouth through their great reputations. They are truly committed to their clients. The proof of the physical transformations are evident, but I can attest to my emotional evolution as well. Grace just opened her state of the art facility last year and put together a small, dedicated and powerful team. My heart goes out to them, because like us, they are considered nonessential and lost their income due to COVID-19. They are resourceful and full of positivity and continue to support this community with Skype sessions, online training and personal consultations. I encourage everyone to do yourselves a solid and take care of your body, mind & spirit while at home by working out online with and then visit them at the gym when this is behind us. It’s one thing for us not to be able to do hair and another to not see our clients and share in their lives. We really miss all of our guests!! We have clients who are littles and have gotten their first haircut with us, to a client that’s 103 and will probably have her last haircut here, and all of you in between! Our goal for inclusivity and diversity is one of the most valuable aspects of this environment. We learn from each other and celebrate our differences. The gratitude was clear before Covid-19, but now the lessons and thankfulness for our space, loyal clients/friends and this community is off the charts.

This is one of my best friends and beautiful clients Sharon She is a dedicated nurse at Kaiser and CHLA. I always knew that she was a consummate professional...knowledgeable, experienced and a fighter for those that often are fighting for their lives. We spoke last night as I knew she’s been working nonstop and had probably been exposed to Covid-19. I asked her what I could do for her and she said nothing...just stay healthy. After decades of friendship, my respect and love for her still evolves.🙌🏼 I know a handful of other nurses that I adore & admire too!! Hoping and praying for all of their health & well-being. We’re all so relieved & happy that Carina is safe and sound after her memorable trip to Peru. Sadly, she and her friends were stuck over there longer because they closed the borders due to the coronavirus.

After doing hair professionally for almost 25 years you don’t get many firsts. This is my first virtual haircut with Mark. He is a sound engineer in Austin Texas and usually flies in to see me for a cut, but we’re taking our social distancing seriously and for now, so I’m teaching him online what tools to use and how to cut his own hair. We both did pretty good for our first time!😉
