Who would have believed that Tofu could be easily transformed into something tasty? Well, these residents saw how it could be done, then enjoyed tasting the tofu mayonnaise, tofu ricotta, and tofu feta. So, our first vegetarian food class was conducted and enjoyed.

Formal Tea Parties were a thing of the past here at BPP, until yesterday…we had lovely ‘turned out’ ladies and gentlemen attending our event. The agreement was wear your hat! Thirteen residents volunteered to bake an amazing variety of cookies and other residents were instrumental in setting up the tables and making croissant sandwiches. Two of our maintenance men transformed into handsome servers to the delight of our ladies. Such a pleasant, relaxed afternoon was had by all!

Our group of residents enjoyed a day at Cheney Stadium on the Golden Year’s Party Deck! With food and drinks provided with our tickets, we could just sit back and enjoy the action. Did our team win, well, that’s another story. Nevertheless, we had a great time at the “ol’ ball game”!

Such imaginative and creative hats were made by our ladies at our hat decorating activity! With butterflies, flowers and ribbon galore from which to choose, excellent combinations were made. Our milliners will sport their hats at our Celebrate Summer Tea later this month.

We celebrated Spring with songs, smiles, dance and games at our Welcome Spring Party! It’s just special to relax and laugh together as we tried to guess the Spring-themed mime phrases, played a few games and enjoyed watching our BPP line dancers perform to “Elvira”. The BPP Singers led us in the Spring-themed sing-along. Ok Spring, keep coming ‘cause you are welcome here!

We celebrated St. Patrick’s Day with a veteran trumpeter who kept us entertained with stories, jokes, and classic Irish tunes. 🍀🎺
Everyone showed up in their best greens, and the weather even joined the theme—cold, rainy, and cloudy—just like Ireland! 🇮🇪🌧️

For our Black History Celebration, we enjoyed an informative and uplifting program prepared and presented by our residents. It was so interesting to learn of a local hero, Dr. Quintard Taylor Jr. who among many other accomplishments, founded the most expansive Black History website; BlackPast.org. which is visited by people worldwide.
The audience was able to participate in answering and reading about inspiring events in Black History which are an integral part of American History. Thank you for preparing that program for us!

We celebrated Valentines Day a day early this year. Barbara led the first songs on the piano, then we played Valentine Trivia. After a couple more songs we played Guess the Romantic Movie. We had Jim playing a bird whistle for the song “Yellow Bird” while Steve accompanied with the maraca. We ended toasting with mocktails to “Love and Friendship” and enjoying some snacks. Thanks to all who helped and participated!

It's been a while since we hosted a country breakfast here at BPP. By popular demand, staff welcomed the hungry breakfast seekers with a delicious morning meal. Judging by the smiles and easy conversations, it looks like everyone left happy—always the best sign of a good morning together.

BPP residents gathered to watch the Seahawks win the Super Bowl! With pizza and snacks, the first half passed without much action—you can see the concentration on everyone’s faces. But hooray for the second half! Well done, Hawks!
