So I’ve had a big jump in customers asking what really is the difference between UV-cured lashes and air-cured lashes?

Honestly… it’s pretty simple:
Photoinitiators.

Traditional lash adhesive cures from moisture/humidity in the air reacting with cyanoacrylates.

UV systems use photoinitiators — molecules that absorb photons from UV/violet light. That absorbed energy creates a rapid polymerization reaction in the adhesive, curing it almost instantly.

So instead of depending mainly on room humidity to start curing:
• air-cure = moisture activated
• UV-cure = light activated

That’s why UV systems can feel faster and more consistent in different environments.
