Lip blushing is a great option to restore color loss, help create symmetry, and provide definition! If injections scare you consider lip blushing first! It’s less painful and can help bring your lips back into focus! The best part is your pop of color will last 1-3 years before you need a color boost! You can still receive filler in the future if you want it! Most people think my lips are natural and I have both filler and lip blushing! It’s all about the artist who listens to your goals and helps make your dreams a reality!

As a nurse practitioner I have many years of experience in injectable’s (Botox and fillers) but that is actually what lead me to tattooing. Volume loss and color loss are both common with aging and often bring patients in with concerns about their lips. But it can be common in the younger populations as well since this is also genetic. The good news is no matter when it brings you in, I am here to help!

Now the next important thing to consider is what are we hoping to achieve? Is it VOLUME (plump lips) or DEFINITION (lip color and skin color no longer blend together)?

Filler does exactly as you would think it is, an injection of hylauranic acid and adds volume to the lip. The lip will stretch to accommodate the filler being added. But think about a balloon… when deflated it’s a bright color… you blow it up (stretch it out) and it’s a lot lighter in color. The same is true for lips. Sometimes you can achieve volume but lose definition. This is where lip blushing comes in. Lip blushing is tattooing a color (chosen perfect for you) on your lips to provide that definition and allow your lips to stand out next to your skin. This tattoo is not permanent and will fade over 1-3 years, similarly to how the filler will metabolize out in most cases between 6-18 months.

These brows are fresh after her touch up. She was very clear she did not want a bold brow, or the traditional shape with the “square fronts” she wanted a little shading to her brows enhancing their natural shape and that’s exactly what we did! She was so happy with her new brows!
