Scraping dried candle wax off your favorite shirt usually pulls the fabric threads right along with it.

Heat liquefies the trapped wax so the porous paper bag can draw it completely out of the cloth fibers.

1. Place the spotted fabric flat with a plain brown paper bag laid directly over the wax stain.

2. Set your household iron to medium heat with the steam function turned completely off.

3. Press the warm iron gently over the paper bag for five to ten seconds at a time.

Step 4 (the one everyone skips): Move to a clean, unused section of the paper bag after every press so you do not transfer wax back into the threads.

5. Rub a drop of plain dish soap into any faint leftover grease mark right before tossing it into your normal laundry.

When you're done, you'll have wax-free fabric with zero spot stains or pulled threads.
