Life hit my girl pretty hard, and her last hair appointment was a year and a half ago!

She came in and said, “Do something, anything to it.”

Grey blending was my absolute go-to. A technique that is subtle yet stunning but also has some longevity to it. Grey blending makes it so that you don’t have to be in my chair every 4-6 weeks; she can easily go 10-12 weeks or even longer without seeing that dreaded line of demarcation!

One of my favorite things to do nowadays, and it always turns out seamlessly beautiful!

That doesn't mean I can't or don't absolutely love doing a good old root retouch or a haircut; I do love all aspects of hair. Vivid colors tickle that little happy spot in my brain.

I adore huge transformations, bright colors, spending hours creating a masterpiece, and vibing with my girls. I adore the industry and pushing myself in creative ways.

🌟 Hello 🌟

Welcome! My name is Katlyn, and I've been doing hair for 11 wonderful years.

My story starts as a high schooler trying to find my way in the world, thinking that if I went to cosmetology school, I could use that to get into dog grooming. Having never owned a dog in my life, humans were a much more logical route for me to take. Fast-forwarding through two other salons where I learned so very much, I finally landed at Encore Studio by Audra Jane. My career could finally blossom, and blossom it did. I love every aspect of hair, from cuts to color to styling and extensions, but I specialize in vivid hair color and blonding. I truly don't 'work' a day in my life. Behind the chair is where I've found myself, my true passion, and I've been blessed to meet so many wonderful people. I'm a bit wild and kinda weird, but my biggest goal every day is for every soul that sits in my chair to walk out smiling!

Thanks for learning a little about me. I'm in the salon every Tuesday, Thursday, Friday, and every other Saturday. Come see me anytime!

Today we’re highlighting the one and only Katlyn — our creative spark with a little wild side!

Katlyn has been with us at Encore since the very beginning. Some of you may remember her from her early days at JCPenney Hair Salon when she was just getting started — and we have absolutely loved watching her grow and bloom into the incredibly talented stylist she is today.

Her true passion? Fantasy colors! From bold vivids to creative, personality-packed transformations, Katlyn loves helping you express who you are through your hair. If you’re ready to step outside the box and have some fun with your look, she’s your girl!

She lives in Armstrong County with her young family and treasures time spent with her close friends. When she’s not behind the chair creating magic, you can usually find her loving on her miniature horse and all of her animals.

And let’s just say… her little wild side keeps life interesting — but with Katlyn, we wouldn’t expect anything less!

Part 2

Sometimes I do really cool things and really pretty things, and then when I take a picture of them, there's a hair out of place or the lighting is a smidge off. Regardless of the circumstance, my brain tells me 'don't post that, someone will point out the imperfection,' but I'm truly beginning to think my brain is lying to me half the time.

So here I am trying to conquer my anxiety one photo at a time. This is a color that I think is a once in a life time color that I hope and pray I get to do again! It’s been living in my photos since … hear me out … July 2025 👀 In the actual photos I took, I can pick out the fly aways and the bobby pins but its entirely to cool of a color not to share with all yall so be gentle with me 💋💋
