To anyone trying to contact me or access this page for information, I say thank you. Due to health issues with my husband & now myself, I have closed my salon and will no longer be working.
It was my utmost pleasure to serve all the wonderful humans that came through my door for all these years. You have all been extended family and some even much, much more. For all the love tears & laughs we have had together, I will forever be grateful. I have always said that I hoped to be behind my chair when I was 85. What is the saying, man plans, God laughs.
I had no idea that stopping what I had been doing since I was 10 years old would be so hard. My mother was so happy when I asked her to let me cover the holes in the back where her scalp was showing one Sunday morning . Little did she know what it would lead to for me later on in my life. It was always my goal. I loved it so much, but for
me, it was more about the friendships and love I would acquire along the way..This has been my life's dream. It was the most wonderful one imaginable. I never wanted anything more than what I was doing. My Daddy took responsibility for my education when I was 17. For his love and support I will always be grateful. He always would say that if you did what you loved, you would never work a day in your life. He was a very smart man.
As my days pass now and my heart yearns to be back behind my chair, I want each of you to know how grateful I am to have been part of your lives and to be there when you needed a shoulder to lean on or advice about the current fire that needed to be put out. I want each & every one of you to know that I will not be writing a book, even though "BEHIND THE CHAIR" would have been the perfect title. Your secrets are all safe with me.
Please know from the bottom of my broken heart, I love each & every one of you "to infinity and beyond", as Buz would say. You each have enriched my life beyond measure and I love you deeply for what your friendship has given me.

Good evening to you all. I wanted to make a notification concerning the holidays at my salon. I am working this week so if you need me call me quickly so I may find a time for you. After this Friday, the salon will be closed until January 7, 2021.
I have not taken a vacation in over 5 years and since Lamon has retired again, we have been asked to come to Greenville South Carolina and spend time with all our lovies up there. I am so excited for this. Its been 6 years since we were there for Christmas.

Today is a time for giving thanks for what we have been blessed with . We truly are a nation that has had God's hand upon us from the very beginning of our existence.
As we all gather with family by blood, by marriage or by the deepest of friendships, let us all remember those that have given so much to allow us to have what we do today. Our fore fathers risked it all for us as well as the service men and women in our armed forces around the world.
Hold hands and bow your heads, as food is given and taken on this holiday, and well wishes are heaped upon each of us. Remember those that are no longer here and kiss those that are because you just never know.
Give thanks many times over that we are who we are and live where we do. No other nation on earth is as blessed as we are.
To each and every one of you on this Thanksgiving Day, I truly whish you happiness, blessing and most of all, love and friendship, on this day and all the days to come.

October is almost over and as we round the corner going into our holiday season, let me please say that planning your hair needs and your beauty upkeep in your calendar is most important. With pictures being taken at every possible turn, you want to be assured that you are at your best.
Please be aware that this is the bussiest time of the year (except at Easter) that stylists experience. Appointments need to be scheduled well in advance in order to have the allowed time for what ever service you may require. Parties and gatherings with family and friends are a warning shot for you to call your stylist and book as early as possible. I always tell my clients that I would rather they have an appointment and not need it, than need it and be unable to get it.
So remember to book early, have a great time, be safe no matter what and remember your stylist and all they have helped you through in the past year. We do more than hair and beauty maintenance for you. We are your friends with talent, a quiet confidant and your staunchest ally that stands with you no matter what . Happy times and much love to you all. Please remember to be the reason that others believe in the goodness of people.

Well the days are becoming shorter and hopefully cooler weather with MUCH less humidity is not far behind. To say that it has been hot is a definite understatement! I saw a cartoon recently that showed a guy in an SUV waving and the text read: Come see us in Georgia! I laughed so hard my sides hurt. The tires were melting off his vehicle......
There will be some changes at the salon in the coming weeks. Stop in and see what"s going on. It's too hot still for coffee but, I have cold bottles of water. You"re always welcome wether you come once or 30 times. My door is always open if you need me for anything. You see we are family. I am in your lives and you are in mine. While I am touching on that subject I need to say a grateful thank you for all who called or sent condolences on the loss of my special Uncle Freeman Benjamin Walden. He will be missed. A quiet man with MUCH wisdom. I hope he and Daddy are fishing in Heaven . Have a blessed week and pay someone a compliment every day. It makes the world turn a little easier. Love to all.

A few weeks back on a Tuesday, we had a very brisk wind and rain storm at the salon. I was finishing tint on a client when the lights went out. I propped open the front door since the wind had calmed down and decided to continue with the cut my client needed. The haircut gave her a new look and was beautiful!
I have been trying to cut her hair like this for over 2 years. It turned out great and she loves it!

Well, we finally got what we asked for! Cold is here with a bang. Feels so good to have that brisk air in our faces. If you know me, you know I like the cold so much better than the heat. I mean really! I was wearing shorts at work on New Year's eve. I have been styling hair for 43 years and have NEVER done that before.
While I applaud the nice change, please remember your pets and check on older family members to make sure they are comfortable with this weather.
I also would like to say that I hope we all have a wonderful and prosperous New Year. We all missed out on the lottery, but hopefully the cheaper gas situation will allow us all to keep a little more cash in our pockets.
I am looking forward to a better year for us and our wonderful country. I keep you all in my prayers and thank you for allowing me to be of service to you in my salon. Remember please, if you need me , don't hesitate to call. I have my appointment book with me always.
