Mindset & Motivation Monday

Listen y'all, I've got ADHD, and as an adult I'm slowly learning how to manage my time better and become more organized.

This year, my biggest focus has been consistency.

I've always been an all-or-nothing kind of girl, and honestly, that's exhausting. I'm all in on skincare, my diet, or my business... until I'm not. Then I hit a brick wall, and it's not a fun place to be.

One day I was listening to a podcast, and they talked about the 10%, 50%, and 100% theory. It's something I've really adopted, and it's helped me so much.

The idea is that not every day can be a 100% day. That's just not realistic.

Let's use skincare as an example.

A 10% day might be using a makeup wipe before bed.

A 50% day is washing your face and moisturizing.

A 100% day is the full routine with the facial steamer, face mask, facial massage, and all the extras.

The goal isn't to be at 100% every day. The goal is to show up. Aim for 50%, celebrate the 100% days, and give yourself grace on the 10% days.

I've found that doing something is always better than doing nothing.

This mindset has helped me tremendously over the last few months because it keeps me from feeling defeated. Instead of thinking, "Well, I don't have time for the whole routine, so I won't do anything," I remind myself that even 10% is still progress.

Consistency will always beat perfection.

SELF CARE SUNDAY!

We're coming up on a new month, and I thought it would be fun to do a Self Care Challenge together!

For the month of September, I challenge you to put your phone down one hour before bed every night. Instead of scrolling, read a book, take a bubble bath, journal, stretch, or just enjoy some quiet time.

Y'all have to keep me accountable because I'm probably the worst about being on my phone before bed! I give you permission to hound me about it. 😂

I know y'all love your hot showers... trust me, I get it! 😂

But if you struggle with your hair color fading quickly, this could be one of the biggest reasons why.

Hot water opens the hair cuticle, which allows your color to fade faster. If you want your color to last longer between appointments, literally cool it with the hot water!

Now, if you don't care and love your hot showers, keep on with your bad self. 😂 But if you're trying to get every last wash out of your color, turning the temperature down just a little can make a big difference.

Back to school season is one of my favorite times of the year.

Today I had the sweetest client in my chair for her very first color appointment, and we gave her the most beautiful bright red hair just in time for school.

There is something so special about being part of someone's first color experience. I hope she walks into school feeling confident, bold, and ready to take on the new school year. I can't wait to see all the memories she'll make with her new hair!

Latest Obsession!

This week's obsession is the Charlotte Tilbury Airbrush Flawless Setting Spray!

Honestly, I'd use this just for the blurring effect alone. It makes my makeup look so much smoother, and I really feel like it's stepped up my makeup game. The fact that it also helps my makeup last all day is just a bonus!
