What a Week

Today makes a week since the world lost Dolly Parton.

Dolly has always been an inspiration of mine since I was a little girl. I feel like watching Steel Magnolias as a kid where she portraits a hair dresser planted the seed to lead me to the beauty industry. In such a time of division it’s been wholesome to see so many people from different walks of life unite in their grief by sharing different pictures, stories, songs and good works she did. She wasn’t just an entertainer, she was a philanthropist.
She cared about people and was community minded.

Last night while attending a community memorial at the Hill Road Library, I learned that the Ventura County Library Foundation is so close to bringing the
Imagination Library to the children of Ventura County.
If you didn’t know Dolly was a champion for children’s literacy. Her Imagination Library sends a free book every month to a child from birth to age 5. This is such an exciting opportunity for our community. If you feel so inclined, I’ve included the link here to donate:
