During my time in Sardinia, I discovered that longevity is not something people obsessively pursue, it is simply woven into the way they live.

I saw a slower, more human rhythm: food prepared from scratch, natural movement, long conversations, strong community ties and time to rest without guilt.

Now, Gen Z has transformed this ancient way of life into a trend called “Nonna Maxxing”, a response to digital overload, burnout and the pressure to optimize every part of our lives.

I find it fascinating that what the internet presents as a new wellness trend has been practiced for generations in Sardinia, home to the world’s first identified Blue Zone.

Perhaps we do not need another complicated routine. Perhaps we need to remember what these communities have always known: living well begins with simplicity, connection and presence.

Swipe through the post to discover what my experience in Sardinia taught me about Nonna Maxxing, longevity and the art of slowing down.

Every summer I come back to Sardinia. And every time, I understand a little more why people here live so long.

Longevity has always been one of my greatest areas of study. As an Ayurvedic practitioner, I have spent years researching what truly keeps the body vital, healthy and radiant over time. And the answers almost never come from a supplement or a protocol. They come from the way people live.

This summer, I had the privilege of meeting Paula , a Blue Zone expert, right here in Sardinia. And she taught me something I want to share with you.

You have probably heard the term Blue Zone. But do you know what it actually means? In this first video, she explains what a Blue Zone is, where the name came from and how a region earns this classification.

This is the beginning of a series exploring what Sardinia and the Blue Zones can teach us about longevity, where age-old wisdom is not something left in the past, but remains woven into everyday life. Along the way, we’ll explore the parallels between these enduring traditions and other ancient principles of living well, and what they might still teach us about longevity today.

Watch the video and tell me: had you heard of Blue Zones before?

These are some of the herbs I use every day — simple, accessible and powerful. Here is why I recommend them.

Start with one. See how your body responds. Then add another.

Which of these are you already using? Tell me in the comments. 👇

As always, consult your Ayurvedic practitioner before adding new herbs to your routine.

Feeling bloated after every meal? It might not be just what you're eating. Your digestion is a mirror of your nervous system. Heal one and you heal the other.

When your nervous system is in survival mode, your body shuts down digestion completely. It is not a priority when you are running from a threat — even if that threat is just your inbox.

Here is what chronic stress does to your gut:

Weakens Agni (digestive fire)
Slows down nutrient absorption
Causes bloating, gas and irregular bowel movements
Creates Ama — toxic buildup in the body
Triggers sugar cravings and heavy food consumption

And here is what Ayurveda recommends to restore it:

Eat in silence, sitting down, without screens
Don't rush after meals
Avoid eating when you are angry, anxious or rushing
Warm, cooked foods are easier to digest than raw
Herbs can support your digestion and nervous system.

Save this if it resonates. And follow for more Ayurvedic wisdom that goes deeper than diet.

This is not a before-and-after story. It is a slow, quiet transformation that has taken years, and is still unfolding.

When I found Ayurveda, I wasn't looking for a wellness trend. I was looking for answers. What I found was a complete system. One that sees the body, emotions, relationships, and the beauty of everyday life as deeply connected.
