✨ Stylist Spotlight: Caitlin ✨

I’ve been doing hair for 16 years, and honestly… this career chose me. I’ve always loved people and their stories. In fact, I got in trouble in 6th grade for not minding my own business — so becoming a hairstylist felt like the most appropriate career path. Turns out, getting to know people deeply is kind of my gift. Over the years, I’ve been honored by how many incredible humans I’ve connected with and walked alongside through life.

Behind the chair, I love everything. I would be a bit bored if I specialized in just one thing. Lately, I’ve become especially passionate about scalp health, but don’t get it twisted — I still love a good blonding session or a solid haircut moment. Variety keeps me alive.

One of the things I’m most grateful for is that Mary and I have been given the opportunity and resources to create Crown & Canvas — a space where stylists can thrive, learn, and take incredible care of our community. Watching this team grow and flourish is something I don’t take lightly for a second.

Hair tip I wish everyone would listen to:
Shampoo 2-3 times a week (your scalp will thank you) and blow dry your roots after every wash. Yes, even when you don’t feel like it. Especially then.

My go-to tool?
A hair brush. Duh. 💁🏼‍♀️ A hard water filter on your shower head, and a leave in conditioner.

When I’m not in the salon, I’m outside with my fiance, my baby boy, and my dogs. I love gardening, weight lifting (I’ve been at it since I was 21), and reading — like really reading. I read 80 books in 2025, which still feels unhinged but accurate.

Coffee order?
Two shots of espresso on ice with half and half. Simple. Strong. No fluff.

Fun fact: I never set out to be a salon owner. I loved educating and managing during my years at Aveda salons, but ownership was never the goal. God had other plans — and I paid attention to the doors He opened.

With 17 years behind the chair, Mary was drawn to hair for the creativity—but what’s kept her here all these years is the connection. Helping people feel confident, seen, and fully themselves is at the heart of everything she does.

Her specialty?

✨ Natural coppers that grow out beautifully

Mary’s approach to hair is effortless, intentional, and low-maintenance—the kind of hair that looks like it naturally grew out of your head that way. She’s deeply educated, highly professional, and always prioritizes longevity and hair health.

Her favorite part of Crown & Canvas?
The team and the space. Being surrounded by talented artists in an environment that feels inspiring, supportive, and elevated makes every day behind the chair special. Mary is also incredibly passionate about mentoring stylists, helping them grow, build confidence, and truly understand their worth—creatively and professionally.

A moment she’ll never forget?
Any time a client looks in the mirror and cries happy tears. Those moments never get old—and they’re exactly why she does what she does.

💡 One hair tip she wishes everyone knew:
Wash twice… and please don’t come in with dirty hair. Clean hair = better results. Period.

Meet Haley — a creator at heart with 13 years in the industry and a deep love for the art of hair. From the very beginning, she chose this career because it allows her to create, express, and help people feel like the best version of themselves.

What Haley loves most behind the chair isn’t just one service — it’s the confidence shift she sees in her clients. Her style is creatively diverse and deeply personalized. She thrives on both sculpted, complex looks and the power of a simple, intentional “less is more” transformation.

One of Haley’s favorite parts of Crown & Canvas is the strong sense of community. From our loyal, diverse clientele to the collaborative, inspiring team she works alongside, this salon is a place where creativity and connection truly coexist.

Giving back has always been a core part of Haley’s career. Some of her most meaningful moments come from providing pro-bono transformations for people in need — going big with creative cuts and color while giving someone a confidence boost that can genuinely change their circumstances.

When she’s not behind the chair, Haley is often on set working as a makeup artist and creative for studio projects, or diving into her love of history, philosophy, and (very specific) color obsessions. If you ever catch her staring at a vintage car or a shade of slate gray, she’s probably analyzing the pigment 😉

Her drink of choice? A large vegan chai (iced or hot) or a vegan matcha latte.

Meet Nicole — Stylist at Crown & Canvas ✨

I’ve been doing hair since 2007, and I specialize in custom color and thoughtful formulation. I love a challenge, I love problem-solving, and I love nothing more than seeing my clients leave happy, confident, and obsessed with their hair.

My approach is simple: I design hair around your lifestyle. That means realistic maintenance, healthy hair, and results that still look good weeks later, not just the day you leave the salon. Beautiful and practical is the goal.

I also spent 6 years grooming for dogs, which means I have elite patience, strong scissor control, and absolutely zero fear of movement in the chair. If you’re nervous, fidgety, or just “a lot”—you’re safe with me 😌✂️

One of my favorite parts of working at Crown & Canvas is the team. Being surrounded by talented, supportive stylists who build each other up and constantly learn from one another creates an elevated experience—for both clients and artists.

When I’m not in the salon, you’ll find me gardening, spending every chance I get outdoors, hanging out with our Brady-Bunch family of 7 or binge-watching murder documentaries and drinking black coffee like it’s a personality trait. 🌱🔪

Shailee has been behind the chair for nearly 3 years, and she chose this career with her future in mind. She knew she wanted to be a mom one day and desired a career that offered flexibility, freedom, and balance — and hair has given her exactly that. She’s incredibly grateful for the life this industry has allowed her to build with her little girl, and that gratitude shows up in everything she does.

Behind the chair, Shailee lives for a good blonding transformation. She loves a challenge, a big change, and the magic of creating a blonde that makes someone feel unstoppable — because let’s be honest… blondes really do have more fun 😉

What truly sets Shailee apart is her heart for community. When she joined Crown & Canvas, she was stepping into something new and unexpected. What she found was a team of women who lead with love, support, and encouragement. Being surrounded by stylists with years of experience has created a safe, welcoming space for her to grow, learn, and feel completely supported — and now, she can’t picture herself anywhere else.

Meet Taylor — stylist, wife, mama, and one of the warmest souls you’ll ever sit with behind the chair. Originally from Kingman, AZ, Taylor’s journey into hair began close to home. She grew up watching her aunt do her hair, learning the craft firsthand, and eventually had the opportunity to work alongside her in the salon. That early mentorship and support lit a spark that’s carried her through the last 7 years in the industry.

Taylor has a deep love for lived-in color and believes there’s truly nothing like a fresh haircut to make someone feel renewed. What drives her most is helping people feel beautiful — always — inside and out.

At Crown & Canvas, Taylor is passionate about creating an experience that feels like true self-care: relaxing, welcoming, and intentional. She values real connection and knows how special it is to slow down and truly be present with the person in her chair.
