Wellness Wednesday, our favorite day!

Today let’s talk about one of the most powerful wellness tools available to us — and it’s completely free.

Morning sunlight.

Getting outside within the first hour or two after waking up can have a surprisingly positive impact on your health.

Natural morning light helps regulate your body’s internal clock, also known as your circadian rhythm. This internal clock influences when you feel awake, when you feel tired, and even how well you sleep at night.

Benefits of morning sunlight may include:

☀️ Improved sleep quality
☀️ Better energy throughout the day
☀️ Enhanced mood and mental well-being
☀️ Support for healthy circadian rhythms
☀️ Increased vitamin D production from sun exposure

You don’t need hours outside to benefit.

Simply spending 5–15 minutes outdoors during the morning can help signal to your brain that it’s time to be alert and active.

One of the easiest ways to build this habit is by taking a short morning walk, enjoying your coffee outside, or simply stepping outdoors for a few minutes before starting your day.

Sometimes the simplest wellness habits can have the biggest impact.

Tuesday Reminder: Rest is part of the plan.

In a world that tells us to go, go, go… sometimes the most productive thing you can do is slow down.

Your muscles recover during rest.
Your mind resets during rest.
Your body heals during rest.

Whether it’s a walk, a nap, stretching, a massage, or simply taking a few minutes for yourself, give your body the care it deserves today.

What’s your favorite way to recharge on a Tuesday?

Muscle Monday – Scalp Series!

This week we’re focusing on the Temporalis—the large, fan-shaped muscle located on the sides of your head above your ears.

The temporalis is one of the primary muscles used for chewing, helping to elevate and retract the jaw. While that may sound simple, this muscle is often involved in many common complaints.

When the temporalis becomes overworked or tight, it can contribute to:

• Temple headaches
• Jaw pain and fatigue
• Teeth grinding (bruxism)
• TMJ discomfort
• Stress-related tension patterns

Many people unconsciously clench their jaw throughout the day, especially during periods of stress, concentration, or poor sleep. Over time, this can create persistent tension in the temporalis muscle and lead to headaches that feel like a band of pressure around the temples.

Because the temporalis works closely with other muscles of the jaw, neck, and scalp, tension in this area can affect more than just your jaw.

Massage therapy can help reduce muscular tension, improve circulation, and promote relaxation in the muscles involved with jaw function.

If you frequently experience temple headaches, jaw tightness, or wake up with a sore jaw, your temporalis muscle may be part of the picture.

🧘 Child’s Pose (Balasana) gently flexes the spine and stretches the muscles of the lower back, hips, and shoulders
🦴 The position may help reduce feelings of tension and stiffness after sitting or physical activity
🧠 Slow breathing during the pose can encourage relaxation and activate the body's calming response
💓 Relaxation techniques are associated with increased parasympathetic ("rest and digest") activity, which may help lower heart rate
⚖️ Child’s Pose can promote calmness and comfort, but it does not directly "trigger" the vagus nerve or instantly lower a stress-related heart rate in everyone

After yesterday’s rain storm, our parking lot turned unexpectedly peaceful around 6pm.
Steam rising from the pavement, reflections in the puddles, and that calm feeling after the storm passes.

Sometimes the quiet moments are the best reset. 🌧️✨

We hope everyone stayed safe during the storm and found a little time to slow down and breathe.

Wellness Wednesday, our favorite day!

Today let’s talk about a simple recovery tool many people swear by — Epsom salt baths.

Epsom salt contains magnesium sulfate and has been used for generations as part of relaxation and recovery routines.

Soaking in a warm Epsom salt bath may help:

🛁 Relax tight or sore muscles
🛁 Reduce stress and promote relaxation
🛁 Support recovery after workouts or long days
🛁 Encourage circulation and relaxation before sleep
🛁 Help calm the nervous system

The combination of warm water, quiet time, and muscle relaxation can help the body slow down and reset.

Simple tip:
Try adding 1–2 cups of Epsom salt to a warm bath and soak for about 15–20 minutes.

Many people enjoy using Epsom salt baths after workouts, long workdays, hikes, or whenever the body feels tense and fatigued.

Sometimes recovery doesn’t have to be complicated — slowing down and giving your body time to relax can go a long way.

Today, we’re taking a break from Muscle Monday.

On this Memorial Day, we pause to honor and remember the brave men and women who made the ultimate sacrifice for our country and our freedom.

While we normally spend Mondays talking about movement, recovery, and health, today is about gratitude and remembrance.

Thank you to all who have served and to those who gave everything.

We’ll be back next Monday continuing our Scalp Series.

Wellness Wednesday, our favorite day!

Today we’re talking about something simple, natural, and used for centuries — honey.

Honey is more than just a sweetener. In its raw and minimally processed form, it contains natural compounds that may help support overall wellness.

Some potential benefits of honey include:

🍯 Natural energy support
Honey provides natural carbohydrates that can help fuel the body and provide a quick source of energy.

🍯 Antioxidant properties
Raw honey contains antioxidants that help protect the body from oxidative stress and support overall health.

🍯 Soothing support
Honey is commonly used to help calm throat irritation and coughing.

🍯 Recovery and wellness
Many people use honey before activity, after workouts, or as part of a calming nighttime routine.

🍯 Seasonal support
Locally sourced honey is often used by people looking for natural support during allergy season.

When possible, choosing raw or local honey may help preserve more of its natural properties.

As always, balance and moderation are important — honey is still a form of sugar.

Sometimes wellness starts with small, natural choices made consistently over time.
