• Sunscreen on fingertips
• Frequent exposure to water or oils (work, daily habits)

Gel doesn’t bond well to moisture or oil.

I always prep the nail carefully,
but if the nail is constantly absorbing oil or water,
it can still affect retention.

Cuticle oil is important for keeping nails healthy and lasting longer
but timing matters.

Right before your appointment,
oil can interfere with adhesion.

After your service,
regular oiling helps maintain healthy nails
and better long-term retention.

Sometimes it’s not the product or technique.
It’s what’s happening before you even sit at the table.

Why nails get thin
