On behalf of my wife and I, we have now closed our beauty brand, Doubledown Cosmetics. This was a difficult decision due to many unforeseen circumstances this year. We want to thank all of you that supported us and our retail partners Walmart, Hellablack, Herbally Grounded and the retailers that onboarded us for later this year. We doubled down and got it done for 5 years as we are incredibly proud of our accomplishments in this industry. From our hearts, we thank you. ❤️

As founded by husband and wife, Marvin and Kristen Speller, Kristen has since courageously come forward with her story as a survivor of domestic violence.

“14 years ago today, I escaped and moved into hiding for 4 years. I had no idea what this survivorship from Domestic Violence would entail and how it would lead to this. The next day, I went to my corporate job, my wounds, bruises and contusions covered up, so I could keep my job. This was essentially the impetus for our Doubledown Cosmetics Glam Up Program, that we founded. To be survivor is a miracle, to be a thriver is otherworldly and to be alive, is a gift of a lifetime. I used makeup to cover up my wounds, which allowed me to explore colors, textures and formulations. I’m grateful for this journey and so happy to have rebuilt my entire life with my husband and co-founder, Marvin.”
