Let's get some self-care up in here.. or is it up in hair!?

Ryan Douglas Salon is reopening for guests on this Friday, May 15th! We can only allow 1 client per hairstylist in the salon for appointments, in which services are being worked on, which unfortunately that means no waiting in the waiting areas for your appointment and no person without an appointment is to be in the salon for any reason. You may wait in your car, stroll around outside, in a neighboring store in plaza until the patron inside leaves. Your hair stylist or esthetician can then text, call, or wave you in for you to come in safely within the state guidelines we must follow while following 6 feet rule with others around you.

I know it's a pain, BUT as the old saying goes, "Pain is Beauty and Beauty is Pain". So from here, let's move onward,- and inward to hide those roots and mend and trim those split ends! Can I get a AMEN?!

We do highly recommend that you wear a face mask,, either of your own or one we can provide you for a dollar. We thank you in advance.

Your next visit WON'T be any much more clean than before,..."Why?!", you ask?! Well because we've always have been pro-hygienic to the max using hospital grade disinfecting solution for every door handle, light switches, styling chairs, faucets, trash cans.,etc..you name it...since day 1, several times throughout the day. We've always had the recommended antimicrobial alcohol Purell hand sanitizers on the walls throughout since the day of opening, automatic self open and close trashcans, automatic antimicrobial hand soap dispenser, automatic hand dryer in restroom that is antibacterial - (no joke. Seriously, antibacterial hand dryer!), our antimicrobial sealer for concrete floors are extra clean and disinfected daily. I bet you didn't know that we thought about yours and our wellness and safety since opening day of RDS. We're so excited and look forward to seeing you all again...we missed you guys too!!!

As many or most of you know are aware of the salons in Ohio being closed and will continue another 4 weeks, at least due to COVID-19. I, as well as the rest our community, are not sure when this will lift. I will be happy to try and help with hair color selection if you feel you must buy color or any other service that we cannot provide for you at this time. If I can be of assistance in any of these ways, feel free to message me on salon page, Instagram, or leave a voicemail.

During this stressful time, I was reminded of my words I chose to describe the motion of life in my view and remind myself to remember recognize the problem or situation that may be a challenge for me, and reminder to r evise myself when needed.
I've had these 3 simple words for several years on my business cards,
and it's what I think of when I think of how we should conduct ourselves with our mind being optimistic, because change is always happening whether great, neutral or not so great..but if you read these 3 words as 3 stages in times of your life in this order, it may help you understand why I use this motto for a long while now, this is what they mean in my salon, my life, and in my process with my life. My favorite word to describe my strongest character of myself is the word, Resilient. These three verbs I incorporate into Resilient as a secondary description.

REVIVE.
When we fall or turmoil is existent at that time, we need to pick ourselves up and regain our strength over fear or weakness

REPLENISH.
To continue reviving forward to become resilient and well nourished in countless ways such as relaxation techniques, eating healthy, maintaining as much normalcy as we can, etc.

RELIVE .
I feel this is used to describe thing(s) we've overcome, won, the success of achieving a sense of peace of mind after a bad day, a bad year, or whatever the situation should be. I find it to be humbling to oneself, because you learn about yourself of what your strengths and weaknesses are, managed to do away with something ( monetarily, a ex relationship, loss of something significant that doesn't destroy you and you've made peace with and moved on with something learned or a new strength.

REVIVE. REPLENISH. RELIVE.

As many may or may not know, there has been a mandated salon closure jn Ohio to all salons due to COVID-19. The salon is planned to reopen as planned, by March 30th, 2020. If there is a change for any reason, rest assure that RDS will post that announcement if it should occur. Stay healthy
