Y’all I’m gonna be real with you, it’s be 174 days without my dad and it’s not any easier. You will have some good days and some not so much. Eventually people stop checking on you and the show goes on.

Running a business trying to maintain an image of your company is rough. YOU are the soul of the entire business. There is not FMLA for a small business. I’m the everything in this company I built.

The night before my dad passed I had to take my oldest son back to Texas. My dad died on the next day Tuesday and my son Liam had to go to Washington DC (first time ever) the next morning and I worked like normal Wednesday Thursday Friday and Saturday… there was no time to grieve. I was also his only child so I was in charge of getting all his things out of his apartment. He had so many things I couldn’t take all of it but you would have thought I was crazy staring at me hugging his trash can like it was a piece of him. I had people pulling me out of his apartment as I was clung onto the door like an orangutan arms and feet trying to hold on to what felt like what’s left of my dad.

But we don’t show you those parts because we are forced to be a robot online. To look like someone who has it all together and never breaks. Share your entire life because people want to watch but don’t share the broken because no one wants to see messy. Because if we are vulnerable you view us as weak or unstable. I do my best to always remain professional and show the strong parts of my business but something broke inside of me since he passed. My dad was my entire world. And I just came on here to say. Hey 👋 I’m human too. I’m a good artist and I love my job but we have bad days too! And this job isn’t as glamorous as we pretend it is!
