The National Weather Service in Amarillo has issued a WIND CHILL WARNING effective tonight at midnight until noon on Friday. Windchill factors of -15 to -35 can be expected during this time. This is a dangerous situation. Frostbite can occur in as little as 10 minutes on exposed skin. Best advice is to stay indoors during this time. If you must get out, dress in layers of clothes, not just one heavy coat. Cover all exposed skin. Limit your time outside.
Be sure and check on family and neighbors during this time. Pets need need to be cared for too. If its too cold for you, it is too cold for them outside.
