Five Tips for Acne Prone Skin! 🤍

🧊Ice your breakouts, don’t pop them! Ice globes are a wonderful tool available for those painful breakouts. They will help reduce redness, inflammation, and irritation while speeding up the healing process. Use them morning and night after cleansing the skin for the best results!

✨Exfoliate at least twice a week. Use a scrub or exfoliating mask to remove excess oil and dead skin cells. Dead skin cells can clog your pores over time leading to more breakouts. However, too much exfoliation can dry out your skin and cause an overproduction of oil, which can also lead to more breakouts. This is why exfoliating only 2-3 times a week is recommended.

🫧Cleanse twice a day and do a double cleanse at night to ensure you’ve properly removed the dirt, SPF, makeup, and excess oil from the skin. Opt for a gentle cleanser so you don’t irritate or strip the skin of its natural oils.

✨Use a mandelic acid serum. Mandelic acid will help balance oil production, reduce future breakouts, gently exfoliate and brighten the skin. My favorite is the Mandelic Brightening Serum from , available for $26. Pick yours up at your next appointment!

🧴Moisturize your skin, don’t dry it out! A common misconception is that you need to completely dry the skin out to get rid of acne or regulate oil. What’s really important is that you balance the oil and water in the skin. Stripping the skin of its natural and protective oils will make the skin retaliate by overproducing it. Use a hydrating mist/serum and a gentle moisturizer along with your active ingredients to keep your skin balanced and reduce future acne.
