We never planned to start a business.

It started with teacher gifts. That's it. I wanted to give Maddi's teachers something thoughtful, so I taught myself to make soap in our Enola kitchen.

The first batch? Terrible. The color was off, the scent was weird, I cut the bars crooked.

I was terrified. What if nobody bought anything?
