Being a wife, a mother, an educator, an entrepreneur - I find myself being pulled in all directions most of the day from sunrise to bedtime. And being present is a struggle, I wonāt lie. Listening, but really listening is challenging when I have a million things on my mind. But I work at it. Itās not perfect most days.
Itās a practice.
I got to spend real quality time with my husband Chris this past weekend. We dropped our 6 year old son off at the grandparents, enjoyed some time with them and then headed off to local desert resort for some R&R. We had a chance to talk uninterrupted for hours, we listened to each other. And we made a pact to book a couple nights like this every other month.
Giving our loved ones the gift of being present is priceless. And we learn to HOLD SPACE for them.
What does it mean to hold space for someone else? It means that we are willing to walk alongside another person in whatever journey theyāre on without judging them, making them feel inadequate, trying to fix them, or trying to impact the outcome. When we hold space for other people, we open our hearts, offer unconditional support, and let go of judgement and control.
Iām far from getting this all perfect. It all starts with being present for the ones you love.
How are you cultivating meaningful time with your partner or loved ones?
Are you able to listen and hold space for them?
Do you carve out special time with your special person?

Today is World Breathing Day. But really, I have a daily breath practice. Today was special ā for about 1 hour I was part of a profound and beautiful breathing party, as I joined together with 60+ community breathers. We were guided so gracefully by one of the co-founders of this amazing group. For the past 2 months ever since I went through Reisā Wim Hof Breath work and cold immersion workshop, Iāve committed to doing the work daily, sometimes guided and sometimes solo.
You see, this week, 1 year ago I had a quarter of my lungs removed as part of lung cancer surgery. The cancer that was discovered in my upper jaw 6 years ago spread to my lungs. There were 4 tumors that had grown in my right lung, slowly enough to alarm my doctors and prompt the removal. I spent 6 days in hospital at a time I thought was the peak of Covid. Little did I know that a few 1000 deaths would result in over half a million deaths today.
I donāt take breathing for granted, in fact, every day, especially during my breath work, during hot yoga, or a tough work out, I thank my lungs for supporting me, for allowing me to breathe freely, for healing so profoundly. During savasana I always lay my hand on lungs and give them gratitude. Today, Iām feeling stronger than ever. But I realize with a heavy and sad heart that millions of people lost their lives, many of which died trying to breathe.
For the next 30 days, I will continue to practice my daily breath work. If you are curious about exploring this ancient practice, this life force of breath, I encourage you to take a moment each day and sit with your breath. Over the next 4 weeks Iāll talk more about breath techniques, share my thoughts on my experience and also reveal some of my findings as I simultaneously read James Nestorās book āBreath ā the new science of a lost artā.
Are you ready to breathe together?
šØ Iāll be doing my own 15 minutes or more of breath work for 30 days
šØ Find your own practice - 1-5 min or longer a day.
šØ Join for guided daily breath work (use code 30DAYCHALLENGE for $10 off their monthly subscription).

So is anyone else starting to eat out again or am I the only one who has not eaten out since March 13th, 2020?
Itās taken me some times to warm up to the idea of eating out in public. Iām still the one with the mask on most of the time. Iām not a fan of shaking hands yet (ok I may never be again). Thatās just me. I keep a handy stash of Onguard sanitizer in my purse.
But we have to live. We have to celebrate life safely. We have identified a couple of our favorite spots where outdoor dining is fun, spaced out and safe. We had a great chat with our server Chelsea about this whole thing. They are doing it right and safe, and clean. If youāre going to go out for meals respect the rules of the establishment, wear your mask, and if you feel ready to go out and explore, go for it. Support your local restaurants. Itās been such a tough year for all of them.
Thank you for your always-amazing farm fresh food and hospitality. So good to be back.

My journey with essential oils began almost 20 years ago with some lemon and peppermint. But it wasnāt until 6 years ago, with a new baby, a diagnosis of head and neck cancer, surgery, radiation and recovery that I discovered the true power of essential oils. When doctors were mindlessly prescribing heavy narcotics for pain, sleep and anxiety, I decided to take a different route. DoTERRA essential oils helped me regain a sense of normalcy.
Today they are a part of my daily routine for myself and my family. I canāt imagine my life without them.
Not all oils are created equal, and low-quality oils can have synthetic additives or impurities.
Before using an oil, verify that itās a high-quality and pure essential oil. Only use essential oils that have gone through extensive testing to ensure purity and safety. If you arenāt confident that an oil has been tested for purity and safety, avoid using it. Thatās why I only use Certified Pure Therapeutic Grade essential oils from doTERRA.
Curious how you can start incorporating essential oils in to your daily habits?
Letās chat. I offer FREE consults to identify your exact needs. But if youāre ready to get going, click the link in my bio to get started with your first kit.

This year āWorld Health Dayā theme is āLetās build a fairer, healthier world for everyone.ā This is a time to remind ourselves that every day is an opportunity to care for ourselves, for the health of our loved ones, our planet and all living things around us. Itās a time to recognize global health challenges and movements while encouraging us to take charge of our own health and happiness.
The foundation for Happiness is our Health, and itās the key to unlock our true potential. We live such busy lives and we donāt stop until our system is run down or we get sick. You might think you donāt have time to take care of yourself, but really we can all make the time. Whether itās a cup of tea, dinner with a loved one, a walk outside; when time is managed in harmony with nature, we end up with more time in good health.
My top 5 priorities each day:
1. Breathe deeply
2. Move my body
3. Fast, then Fuel with whole food nutrition
4. Hydrate all day
5. Get 8-9 hours of sleep
Be healthy, Be Happy!
