As I step into this new year, I’ve been reflecting on how much growth can happen quietly. Behind the scenes. In small choices in showing up even when it’s hard. ⁣

This past year taught me: ⁣

Finding the right level when color matching is so important. I am always using my swatch book for this! When working with warm or red tones I love this trick of taking a picture with a black and white filter to see the true level. If you swipe you will see the difference.

Speciality Blonding has been added to my service menu! ⁣

This is a low maintenance blonding service that includes a mixture of highlights, babylights, teasylights (teased highlights) and balayage. Followed by custom toning and root melting for a seamless grow out. ⁣

This particular service takes 3.5 to 4 hours. Drinks and snacks are always provided

Sometime the most subtle and natural highlights take the longest. My new guest came to me with all black hair. She had never done anything to her hair except henna color. ⁣

We started with a strand test to make sure we wouldn’t have any unnatural chemical reactions and to check what kind of lift we would get. ⁣
⁣
Moving forward with a full head of teasylights and babylights. It lifted to a raw orange yellow. I used 4n for the roots to tone melted into 6n and 6-31 for 20 min ⁣

Total time was 4.5 hours ⁣
⁣

Brighter around the face and ends for this beauty. Her maintenance is only every six months since it grows out so smoothly without harsh lines. My class with really helped me to to not over blonde and keep a lot of her natural depth. Total service took a little over 3 hours.
