Many people have asked why we don’t do Hair, facials or nails?

At Lash & Brow we decided that we would do just a few things really, really well.

You wouldn’t go to a general surgeon for heart surgery … so why would you go to someone for lashes or permanent make up that does it just once a week?
I believe that many in our industry fear that if they are super specific they won’t have enough buisness or they will miss an opportunity.
When we are interviewing for a new team member we ask very specific questions to help figure out what they are passionate about I truly believe that if you’re passionate about some thing you’ll be excellent at it! This is also why we have a 90 day trial period at our studio to make sure that they will be the right fit, as well as if they truly are enjoying what they do!
Our lash artist do just lashes and our permanent make up artist do just permanent make up as their specialty!

We do this because muscle memory is super important and it allows that artist to master that muscle memory for that specific thing!

This allows our artist to also see so many different types of lashes and faces and with the help of our owner Kate who is continually training and guiding them they get to learn so much more!

“ Their Learning curve is so much faster than so many others, the normal for this industry is you take one class maybe work on one model and then you’re off to the races to work on clients you just can’t learn all of that in one day or even two or three. it literally is years of trial and error in time and watching and seeing what happens learning staying curious and then figuring out the answer to the problem. My hope is they can learn from all of my mistakes and they will learn so much faster because of this.”

Kates heart is to educate not just those in our industry but also clients, you will probably start seeing a bigger shift in our social media as she starts to share more education and knowledge. What would you like to hear her teach more on and things you’d like to learn about!

I took my daughter to get her haircut and as I was sitting watching and just observing. Let me tell you what I saw. I saw my daughter connecting with other women in the salon as they were laughing about something so silly. I watched as people put down their cell phones and engaged with each other. I watched as her hair took new shape her confidence start to rise. I watched the small pieces of connection where she would laugh and @amberrocks7 would put her hand on her shoulder. Amber was kind and patient and listened to the 14-year-old drama. Do you know that this is self-care? Watching my daughters spirits lift after a hard week. Teaching her that taking care of herself is so important. I sat and watched and thought it is such an important job she has. Many of us in the industry have been told. “ you just do hair” or “you just do Lashes” Yes, those words have actually been said to me. As if my job title has anything to do with who I am. Maybe that is not what they meant, yet those words can carry weight. So as I sat and watched my daughter glow with excitement from the fresh bob and flat iron curls I thought to myself. Today, you were her therapist. You told her truth, that she was beautiful and that middle school kids can be mean. ( because you know mom knows nothing 😜) Today, you are her friend who laughed at her goofiness. Today, you encouraged her and showed her love. Today you helped with her anxiety. Thank you to all of you who love on others. It’s such an important and hard job. I know the days can be long, and your feet tired and back weary. You make a difference in so many ways.
