Ghosts are bananas with chocolate chips. Minis for eyes and regular size for the mouth. Pumpkins are tangerines with a piece of celery for the stalk.
Great time to try fizz, see what all the buzz is about!
It’s fall y’all! And apples are awesome!!🍎🍎🍎
Apples are rich in Vitamin A, B complex and vitamin C and minerals. They are known to boost immunity, neutralize irritable bowel syndrome, detoxify your liver, avert hemorrhoids, help with weight management, increase the endurance of your body, lead to whiter teeth, aid digestion, help with detoxification of the body and lead to better blood circulation. But there are benefits for the skin that you will never imagine.
Eating apples can help not only with brightening up your skin but also lightening its color, because they provide a little protection against tanning. The collagen and the elastic in the apples are vital for keeping the skin youthful. The nutrients of the fruit work effectively to benefit your skin by getting rid of the pathogens and the excess oils. It can soothe the skin and lead to rosy cheeks!
The water content in apples is very high, so even eating an apple will help with hydration. Apples not only hydrate but also cleanse the skin. Cover your face with apple slices (the apple needs to be cut fresh, just before you want to use it) and leave them on until slices are dry, for at least about 15 to 20 minutes. The vitamin E in the apple will keep the skin soft and hydrated.
For itchy acne spots, you can just refrigerate a slice of apple and use the cooled slice on the itchy spots to instant relief.
To get rid of the puffiness and reduce the dark circles, simply place apple slices under your eyes for at least 20 minutes.
Apples can be a boon for those who are suffering from dry skin! They have nourishing and hydrating properties which provide the skin with the correct amount of fluid to make it supple. Cut an apple into slices and rub a slice on your face until it dries up. In case you need more than one slice, go right ahead, use it! Eat the rest! Leave the juice on the skin until it dries up. This natural fluid of the slices will seep into the pores and balance the pH levels and reduce the oiliness of the skin.
So there you have it - head to the apple orchard today!!!

Do you like Chai?
Today is a great day to enjoy some… it’s National Chai Day! ☕️💕
A little history... chai, the Hindi word for “tea”, is derived from the Chinese “cha”. Chai dates back >5000 years when it was first created as a healing spiced beverage. Recipes for traditional “masala chai” or “spiced tea” vary, but typically include:
1. Tea, usually black. But any kind of tea works, including green or herbal (I use Arbonne herbal detox tea).
2. Milk (Indian chai is often made with water buffalo milk... I drank this in India 😋) but cow’s milk or non-dairy options are popular.
3. Sweetener - white or brown sugar or honey are typical. Agave or stevia can also be used.
4. Spices (masala) are traditionally cardamom, ginger, cinnamon, cloves, and black peppercorns, but could also include vanilla, nutmeg, mace, star anise or fennel.
This Chai Latte recipe is one of my favorites. Not only is it gluten-free, vegan, and dairy-free, but also 30-Day Healthy Living compliant. 🙌 The protein powder gives you protein & vitamins and helps thicken & sweeten it. This chai is easy to make and tastes SO good on a crisp fall day. 🍂🍁
Do you have a favorite Chai recipe?

National Acorn Squash Day is observed annually on September 7th. Even though it’s considered a winter squash, acorn squash belongs to the same species as all summer squashes including zucchini and yellow crookneck squash. My dad, who grew many varieties of squash, taught me that the best tasting acorn squash were those that had a splotch of orange on their side.
Nutritionally, the acorn squash offers a good source of dietary fiber and potassium. It also has vitamin C and B, magnesium and manganese.
Acorn squash is versatile, and can be baked, microwaved, sautéed, or steamed. The way we always prepared it was baked... cut in half, seeds scooped out, and the cavity filled with butter and brown sugar. Now I make a healthier version... baked with avocado oil and a little organic brown coconut sugar! Still delicious! 😋

DID YOU KNOW THIS?
Coffee filters .... Who knew! And you can buy 1,000 at the Dollar Tree for almost nothing even the large ones.
1. Cover bowls or dishes when cooking in the microwave. Coffee filters make excellent covers.
2. Clean windows, mirrors, and chrome... Coffee filters are lint-free so they'll leave windows sparkling.
3. Protect China by separating your good dishes with a coffee filter between each dish.
4. Filter broken cork from wine. If you break the cork when opening a wine bottle, filter the wine through a coffee filter.
5. Protect a cast-iron skillet. Place a coffee filter in the skillet to absorb moisture and prevent rust.
6. Apply shoe polish. Ball up a lint-free coffee filter.
7. Recycle frying oil. After frying, strain oil through a sieve lined with a coffee filter.
8. Weigh chopped foods. Place chopped ingredients in a coffee filter on a kitchen scale.
9. Hold tacos. Coffee filters make convenient wrappers for messy foods.
10. Stop the soil from leaking out of a plant pot. Line a plant pot with a coffee filter to prevent the soil from going through the drainage holes.
11.. Prevent a Popsicle from dripping. Poke one or two holes as needed in a coffee filter.
12. Do you think we used expensive strips to wax eyebrows? Use strips of coffee filters..
13. Put a few in a plate and put your fried bacon, French fries, chicken fingers, etc on them. It soaks out all the grease.
14. Keep in the bathroom. They make great "razor nick fixers."
15. As a sewing backing. Use a filter as an easy-to-tear backing for embroidering or appliquéing soft fabrics.
16. Put baking soda into a coffee filter and insert into shoes or a closet to absorb or prevent odors.
17. Use them to strain soup stock and to tie fresh herbs in to put in soups and stews.
18. Use a coffee filter to prevent spilling when you add fluids to your car.
19. Use them as a spoon rest while cooking and clean up small counter spills.
20. Can use to hold dry ingredients when baking or when cutting a piece of fruit or veggies.. Saves on having extra bowls to wash.
21. Use them to wrap Christmas ornaments for storage.
22. Use them to remove fingernail polish when out of cotton balls.
