Signature Day Spa

Happy Birthday Mary! One of the best clients and friends in a lifetime. 🎂 ❤️

Signature Day Spa | Carmel Plaza
For more than 30 years, Tonya Montgomery and her team at Signature Day Spa have been part of the heartbeat of Carmel-by-the-Sea and the Monterey Peninsula.
Right here in Carmel Plaza, we’ve built a home for organic, chemical-free care — facials, massage, hair, skin, and the Japanese Head Spa that guests now travel here to experience. Year after year, our community has voted us #1 Day Spa, #1 Facials, #1 Hairstylist, #1 Massage, and #1 Skin Care. Those awards belong to every client who walked through our doors and every teammate who showed up with skill and heart.
We think about this place constantly: the fog rolling in, the Plaza just outside, neighbors who become regulars, visitors who fall in love with Carmel and come back for another treatment. This peninsula raised us. We’re proud to take care of it — and of you.
Thank you for 30+ years of trust.

Voted #1 — year after year after year.
Signature Day Spa has been named:
✨ #1 Day Spa
✨ #1 Facials & Skin Care
✨ #1 Massage
✨ #1 Hair Salon / Hairstylist
✨ 1 Waxing
…for more than a decade in Monterey County.
We’ve also earned Tripadvisor’s Travelers’ Choice Award (top 10% of spas nationwide) and First Place in the Herald Readers’ Choice Awards for Best Spa, Best Skin Care, Best Massage, Best Hair Salon, and Best Waxing.
Thirty years of eco-friendly, organic, chemical-free care. A beautiful new home in Carmel Plaza. The Japanese Head Spa. Halotherapy. Red light. Healing hands that locals and visitors keep coming back for.
Those awards belong to this community as much as they belong to our team. You voted. You reviewed. You sent your friends. You trusted us when “chemical-free” wasn’t the easy choice.
Come see why.

Expecting and dealing with pregnancy acne? You’re not alone — those hormone shifts can leave skin congested, inflamed, and extra sensitive. At Signature Day Spa we can customize a gentle, pregnancy-conscious plan that focuses on hydration, calm, and glow without the ingredients you need to skip.
HydraFacial MD (modified)
We keep the signature vortex cleanse, gentle extraction, and deep hydration — and skip the GlySal peel and any high-strength salicylic or retinoid boosters. The result is clearer, calmer, more hydrated skin with zero downtime. Always tell us you’re pregnant so we can tailor every serum.
LightStim red light
Red light on the face is widely used to soothe inflammation and support clearer-looking skin. Sessions are short, comfortable, and stay well away from the abdomen. Many moms-to-be love pairing a brief LightStim session with a modified HydraFacial. Always check with your OB/GYN first.
Anti-inflammatory support
We lean on hydrating, calming steps and red-light phototherapy rather than harsh actives. The goal is less redness and congestion while your skin is extra reactive.
Important: Every pregnancy is different. Please get clearance from your obstetrician before booking, and tell our team you’re expecting so we can customize everything.
Call (831) 626-1998 or stop by Suite 216 at Carmel Plaza (Mission & Ocean, next to Anthropologie). We’d love to help you feel like yourself again.

From the bottom of our hearts, Carmel-by-the-Sea and the whole Monterey Peninsula —
Thank you.
Year after year you have chosen us, trusted us, and sent the people you love through our doors. That kind of loyalty is the greatest honor we could ever receive. Being named the community’s favorite day spa for more than fifteen years, celebrated for our facials, hair, and massage, recognized among the top spas in the country, and recommended by hospitality and concierge partners who know this peninsula best… none of it happens without you.
This little sanctuary at Carmel Plaza exists because of the people who walk in tired and walk out lighter. Because of locals who treat us like family. Because of visitors who find us once and come back every time they return to the coast. Because of a team that pours their talent and kindness into every treatment.
We are so grateful to belong here — to this village, this coastline, this community that still believes in showing up for one another.
Come sit with us. Let us take care of you. The door is always open.
With love and the deepest thanks,
Tonya and the entire Signature Day Spa family
