AMD Homecare Services

AMD offers skilled nursing care, personal care assistance and companion/sitter services for extended periods a four-hour minimum requirement for services. Nursing services are provided by registered nurses or licensed practical nurses under the supervision of a registered nurse. Personal care services include help with bathing, toileting, grooming, shaving, mouth care, dressing and eating. Personal care assistants also help clients move about in the home or transfer between bed, chair or toilet. Companion or sitter services include transportation services for appointments and other outings, meal preparation and serving and household tasks essential to cleanliness and safety. Depending on the service provided, state regulations require that the appropriate supervisor visit the client’s home periodically. Some private home care providers offer live-in assistance which can be provided by personal care assistants (CNAs) or companion sitters depending on the needs of the client.
